Pure Digital DAB 1500 FM/DAB Radio

The Pure Digital DAB 1500 FM/DAB Radio is a very neat well constructed radio with a superb sound. The digital signal is entirely hiss and interference free. I bought it as I ride a motorcycle and discovered that when connected to my helmet speakers I can hear music and news very clearly at any speed. This was unlike my old analogue radio, which it was impossible to obtain an interference free signal from. I have only one dislike is that when you carelessly drop it out of your pocket at speed it does not bounce which is why I bought this one to replace an identical model. To be fair apart from a few scratches it was virtually undamaged except for the on/off switch which I could not repair. I still use it by having the switch permanently on and just disconnecting the battery. Not ideal on the bike but gives me a great signal with speakers in the office. Overall it is a superb product which I highly recommend.

I brought this radio as I was fed up with poor reception of Talk Sport and 5Live on AM wave band. I have lost count of how many times I have been listening to sport and at a crucial time lost the signal and had to wait for the next update to find out exactly what happened!
Thanks to this little gem those days have gone forever. Its easy to use and tune and the reception and sound quality is second to none. I only hope DAB gets the listeners to make it a continued success. My only tip is to shop around as the price can vary by up to £20, use a price comparison site to get the best bargain like I did, enough said, go and buy one all you music and Sports fans. You will not be disappointed and never miss a Sports update again!!

Excellent on the move in car/bike,good quality sound.Only works with earphones and it should be supplied with durable case similar to mobile phones lest you drop it.

Being a heavy user of a small portable radio listening to MW, I researched the digital reception on my post code and was convinced that the reception was going to be approx 95%. However how wrong is the information being given out concerning the reception. The DAB radio reception is useless and I have reverted back to my old 10 year old radio. Obviously not the fault of my ebay supplier who sold the radio in good working order and delivered very promptly.
I would think twice about entering into the digital radio market my experience is that there is a lot of work to do and the information in the market place is very misleading.

It's a wicked pice of kit.Loads of presets for dab/fm.Tuned 30 odd channels first time and I live out in rural Dorset.
Great sound from the Senhiser phones,plenty of power.Battery lasts for hours,then just charge and away you go.
I have purchased a pair of portable speakers (small box type) so I can use the radio at home also.Sounds very good.

Great buy to get your DAB on the move, especially as it provides a good alternative if you don't have it in your car - gets a great signal on the move, long charge life and easy to use - would recommend getting a good case to keep it in as well

An impressive little radio with a crystal clear reception and so easy to use.If it's just a pocket radio you want as opposed to an MP3 or I-Pod then this is the one. Rechargeable too.........that's handy!!

This was a replacement for an earlier model (1000) which operated on AA batteries, and had a poor useful battery life. The new model has a lithium ion battery which lasts for much longer - 24 hours claimed. There are the usual problems with poor signal quality, which may or may not have something to do with the aerial being incorporated in the headphone cord (I use the radio when I am out walking in the countryside, and I do seem to lose the signal quite frequently). Overall I would recommend it as a portable device which fits easily into a pocket, and gives a very good service.

Nice compact stylish looking DAB. Good battery life but suffers alot of interference especially when i have it connected through my car stereo. Fantastic reception if your staying in the one place but no so great on the move

Great DAB signal on the train and tram, with exceptionally clear sound. Highly recommended. Have only needed FM for local football, which is not broadcast on DAB.

this is an excellent sounding little radio ,fits in pocket so i can take to the football . The only slight problem is when you move about you lose the dab signal, but only now and then apart from that it great.

battery lasts well, clear reception, plenty of preset stations, v.compact, good value, enuf said....
