  The best workout DVD ever!!!

I love this DVD, I have been doing this for about 4 weeks and lost 1 stone, and feel so much better than before.

One thing to look out for though, is that most of the moves are not explained so it is a matter of watching and doing as you go along, but this doesn't usually take long and is definately worth it.

This DVD is soooo much fun and definately the best out of the pump it up collection.

A really good thing is, once you have got into the routine you can actually turn the comments off and just enjoy the music.

Love the music and with summer comming and my dislike for the gym i gave it a go. This dvd is for the serious keep fit fanatics only i struggled to keep up with the warm up execises never mind the actual workout. But would recommend as well made, enthusiastic and great music

  Really Good Fun!

When I bought this DVD I was very sceptical and wasn't sure if it would be any good. Thats probably due to the girls in the skimpy outfits on the cover!
Anyhow it was recommended by someone so I decided to get it.
It has great music on it and its really good fun. The moves aren't explained that well and it can be a bit difficult to follow but oh my, the laughs I have had trying to keep up! (Although I do not have the best co-ordination!) The instructor Deanne and the girls look great which gave me something to aspire to and the DVD has 5 different sections consisting of Warm Up, Dance it Off, High Energy, Legs Bums and tums (Floorwork) and a Cool Down Section. So you can dip in as you like. I recommend this dvd, it really is fun and makes you sweat at the same time!

Excellent workout not recomended for beginners.
The workouts are enjoyable but sometimes hard to follow! THere is an alternative workout for beginners, but i feel that even this is a little hard for a beginner with low fitness levels.
The movements are explained well but this is a vert fast paced workout !
I was disapointed with the music, i was expecting lots of dance hits but the couple that are on there are extended versions and go on for a while making it a little boring! there is only about four or five tracks on the whole workout and cool down !
It would be nice to see "Normal" girls featured in the dvd not figure perfect "bimbos" pouting there way through the whole workout ! However if your male enjoy !!!
Not a bad dvd and gets you moving and brings on a sweat, which is of course what you want in a workout, as well as burning and toning so i would recommend it if you are of intermediate fitness levels and above.

I haven't been going to the gym for a while as i really lack motivation. Bought a couple of aerobic fitness dvds before but this one was more entertaining and music was wayyyyy better than other fitness dvds i've owned. Instructor of the dvd motivates you and isn't annoying at all. As a beginner, i found the dancing part was too intense for me but other divided section was great. I'm also getting hang of the moves which was not explained very well but after watching it once or twice, you should be able to catch up. you wouldn't want it explaining all the time when you've seen the dvd for the 50th time..Anyway thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun but you will sweat a lot! A great buy!

Pump It Up dance yourself fit exercise (DVD 2004)
Review created: 12/03/09
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

It has aerobics moves that everyone can follow. It does have the warm up & then the 20 min session.I enjoyed it & it was the 1st exercise dvd of pump it up that I have bought. It also goes behind the sences to show how they made the dvd. What I loved the most was the music. I also found the toning section very useful for my upper arms which used to be quite flabby - not any more though.
It is hard at 1st, but the body gets used to it after a while, which is why it's good to alternate it every 5 weeks. 5 weeks of this then 5 weeks of the other pump it ups & you will see the difference.
I went from size 24/26 to now a size 10/12.
At the moment I don't use pump it up dvds or any other exercise dvds because I don't want to lose any more weight & I get enough exercise through walking.

If you are a beginner I would not recommend this as it is fast paced and unless you know lots of aerobics moves already you will get lost.
However this is fantastic!! I was sweating in no time and I couldn't finish it as I was so worn out(and I grew up dancing!) I can see how these dancers are so damn fit!

And the 'call on me' moves may look slutty in the video but my god are they tough on the body!

Also note that there isn't an actual dance routine that you learn, it's purely aerobics but with a touch of dance to it.

hi there
the best thing about this dvd was the music! as the actual work out it self was way too fast to keep up with, and quite a few of my friends said the same as me! really it should state not for beginners as they don't really run you through the actual workout so i rated this dvd below average
SORRY

Pump It Up 1st workout DVD by Ministry Of Sound
Review created: 08/05/07
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This workout is effective but little difficult to follow. As it is the first workout to be released by ministry of sound my girlfriend has found the subsequent ones to be a little easier to follow. It has a 'salsa' section which is fun to learn but you end up skipping sections in the workout which are just too difficult to follow. The soundtrack is still reasonably up to date but for beginners the 'Burn It, Lose it' DVD released Dec 2006 is a lot better despite having the same woman doing the workout. My girlfriend has all four of the 'Pump It Up' DVD's and this is her least favourite but still better than any other 'celebrity' workout DVD's on the market. Using a combination of all of the 'Pump It Up' DVD's she has lost 1 stone in 2 months so she really can't complain!

Brilliant workout DVD, I really recommend it.
Review created: 08/01/07

I bought this because I had Pump it up, Hi-Energy. (The third one) I found this really, really fun. But i was beginning to know all the moves, the music which was coming on and everything the women was about to say... So I decided to the other two.

I think all of them are extremly enjoyable to do. They all have great little moves, great music and get your blood pumping without you having to try to hard, (as your having fun, you dont really notice you are working so hard.)

I think out of all of the DVD's, this one is the best as it is a little more intense that the other two and it really does work your fat of and tone you up. You also feel more energetic after doing this for only a week and you do notice yourself getting fitter.

The only bad thing i can say about it, is that the women doesn't really tell you what she's doing, until she actually doing it, Which can be quite confusing at first. But if your a dancer or enjoy dancing and give it your best shot, it should only take about 3 goes and you will have most of it and can start enjoying it.

If you havent tried any of the DVD's already, and you are wanting to have fun and lose weight or tone up you should definatly give this a go. It will be worth the money you pay.

I recommend this DVD to people who are willing to work that little bit harder to get the results. But also love dancing and are able to have fun with it. Good Luck

This is the first of the ministry of sound workout dvds i bought and first one in general IT IS GREAT. The instructor is friendly and explains everything accurately and friendly.
You have to be fairly fit to complete it as the dance section (she says it is high energy at the start) and it is. But this dvd is easy moves and earobic style rather than dance moves so it is easy to follow and you wont get lost. The soundtrack is great. it is a 80's feel dvd but the music isnt dated and is VERY FUN i havent stopped doing my ministry of sound dvds in about a year since buying them. I really do reccomend this dvd and it really works!

  Only for the aerobics expert
Review created: 09/09/06

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I wanted an exercise video which I could do at home, to save gym costs, and after reading the blurb I decided on this one since it sounded fun and fairly intense. However, I found this DVD was too difficult to understand- they just go straight into the routines without any explanation of how to do the different steps, and they're very fast paced, so I found it very difficult to keep up. The bums and tums bit and the relaxation/yoga bit at the end were good, and I enjoyed the music, but as for the actual dance/workout routines, I'd only recommend them if you're very fit and go to aerobics classes a lot so you know all the moves. If like me, you just want something you can stick on and workout to without too much mental effort, then this isn't the DVD for you.

This dvd is excellent. It gives a really good workout yet is fun and ednjoyable. The music is very up beat and the instructor helps keep you motivated. Each section is full off dance moves which makes you feel like your dancing about at party not workingout in your living room.

  Pump It Up (DVD 2004)
Review created: 25/10/09(updated 25/10/09)

I read alot of reviews before buying this DVD. I have used it twice in 2 days and think it is a really great workout. The warm up alone gets you sweating! The only bit I'm not keen on is the salsa moves but I think that's just because I haven't got the hang of that bit yet. I'm sure I'll pick the moves up after another fews goes. I have used the Davina High Energy Five DVD also which I love but it wrecks me! I find the Pump It Up DVD more enjoyable as I like dancing and the music is great and it is easy enough to follow.

Full of energy. Great dance moves. Needed to watch it twice to get use to the movement as not enough demonstration. But with this DVD, you can easily lose weight. It reminds me of the aerobic class I use to attend at the gym. Now I can do the exercise at home for less.
