Psycho (DVD 2003)

The homicidal maniac's attack in the shower, with blood gurgling down the plughole, must be one of the most shocking scenes ever filmed. The tension is unbearable as lovesick Janet Leigh runs off with a big wedge of cash from her office and decides to overnight at an out-of-the-way motel. Big mistake! Anthony Perkins is great as the creepy motel-owner. The cream on the cake is Bernard Herrmann's chilling music. A Hitchcock classic that still makes film fans' blood run cold after more than 40 years.

1 hr 43 mins of pure genius that was Alfred Hitchcock!. This is the original black and white movie that scared us all upon it`s release in 1960. It stars Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh in the notable shower curtain scene. For those of you put there unfamiliar with this movie and all the hype that goes with it, then all I can say say is this.....it is a must see movie and one that you will remember FOREVER! I do not want to put `spoilers` into this review as I am sure you can read all about the `whats it about` reviews elsewhere....but I would say DON`T, just watch this movie and revel in the macabre, the horror and the suspense. This is Hitchcock at his best. Though it was shot in 1960 , the dvd does contain a few extras i.e. production notes, cast and filmmakers and the original theatrical trailer. Once again ....a gem of a movie...enjoy!

After studing the introduction music to psycho I have wanted to watch the whole film. After buying it, I played it straight away and I think its a really good film.
