I love this series soooooo much! I have watched It thousands of times and not once am I bored, the characters just come alive in the amazing programme. I have read Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' book and It Is truly outstanding but I must admit the adaptation Is just as good. The actors performance is amazing, Jennifer Ehle is remarkable and Colin firth is no doubt Mr Darcy In real life (or at least I wish him to be!) handsome, charming and a true gentleman. If you are as soppy as I am, I sure you girls will feel yourselves In love! I recommend this to anyone, some men may be put off thinking It Is a women's book/story but let me assure you that you are wrong. The actors and actresses performances in the series truly deserved the Baftas they received. Don’t miss out on a real treat, I loved It and I am sure you will too! Perfect!

I purchased this to replace my wifes trashed video tape. The copy was every bit as good as tape version, probably the finest interpretation ever made of this Bronte classic. The only reason for marking it 'good' is that, unlike the tape, the DVD is divided into episodes with all the music and title sequence included. Still, it's a must for all you Mr D'Arcy groupies.

It has been my favourite book since I first read it as a teenager and this production completely captured the spirit of the book. It had perfect casting throughout with the houses and scenery exactly as I had imagined them. Also it benfited from being six hours long as it gave time for the characters to develop.

We had the Video recordings from years ago but having recently got a new television wanted to update to DVDs.

Brilliant film adaptation of Jane Austen's book 'Pride and Prejudice' This is the film that brings the book to life. Elizabeth Bennett and Darcy in particular are brilliantly portrayed by Jennifer Erhle and Colin Firth. I would recommend this film for all ages, young and old alike. The book is one of my favourites and the film has enhanced that. I have seen other versions of the book but I just don't think they touch this BBC production. Absolutely outstanding - A definite must watch film.

My wife loved the TV series and, when we saw it available on DVD, we decided on impulse to buy it as a 'treat'. We are now watching the 6 episodes together and are both thoroughly enjoying it 'second time round'. The DVD quality is great and we will be passing it on to our four daughters to borrow when we have finished.

I got this as a Christmas Prezzie - it is in 6 hour long episodes. I thought I'd watch them one at a time but once i started watching I was hooked and watched the lot in one go!! Charming story and Colin Firth is breathtaking as Mr Darcy. I'm in love!!
Highly recommended and now my favourite dvd of my whole collection (and i have a lot!)

This production, the epitome of great costume dramas, bar none. I read this book and all of Jane Austen's work; that to come across a drama with such excellent retelling of the story was truly remarkable!

Not to mention the added bonus of the superb cast. Colin Firth will forever be remembered in the part of Darcy, making many a woman swoon.

There have been remakes but this one will remain the best.

I have many of Jane Austens book which I find a great read as it takes me into a fantasy world of beautiful clothes, traditons and respect.
I have seen many versions of this fabulous story, but this version of Pride and Prejudice is the best I have seen yet, not to mention Colin Firth.

This was bought for my daughter for Christmas, she was over the moon with it as specially as it was only one of four DVDs by the same author. I am not made of money but buying on E-bay means you get more for your money. She has had great enjoyment out of this and the others.

This is a classic BBC dramatisation of Jane Austen's romantic novel.It is a BAFTA & Emmy winning series. Having really enjoyed the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen I was recommended by a friend to watch the BBC adaptation. I was unable to find it either on the high street, or to rent, so started to look on ebay. It is brilliant and I was gripped from the start, watching the 6 part series virtually back to back. It stars Colin Firth, as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle plays the part of Elizabeth Bennet. The scenary & acting is superb and the relationship between the two main characters is very compelling. Special features include the making of the series. Quite simply brilliant.

Brand new in film still. I love pride and prejudice and i watched this series on TV and on my VHS Tapes bought a few years ago. Now have on DVD. Fabulous adaptation of the book....better than the film!!!! Darcy (Colin Firth) is fab! It is in places like reading the book. Mrs Bennett is fab!!!! and so is Mr Collins!!!! A must see if you love Austin and a must see if not. On DVD you can manipulate your watching much better than VHS. I will without doubt watch it again and again and again!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!!

This is a truly witty and well acted series. Humourous too. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good romantic drama/comedy.

if you have enjoyed jane austine in the past you will most certainly enjoy pride and prejudice, it has to be her best film ever, i enjoyed the lovely story, colin firth and jennifer ehle take leading rolls in this brilliant film, i found myslef wondering if they would ever find romance, but what a wonderful ending.

I would love to write a review about this DVD - but the seller took my money via paypal then and came off ebay. I paid by paypal but they have said that they can see nothing wrong with the transaction. Some you win, in this case, I have lost bigtime. The acting is this is very good. The characters come over exactly as they are meant to. I prefer this BBC version to the movie (you can't beat Colin Firth as Mr Darcy). I would recommend anyone who likes a good romance but not too mushy to watch this. The only down side to it is that it is split up into episodes and you can't help thinking you may have missed something.

I found this to be the very best dramatisation ever, with the most rounded and developed characterisations from the super obsequious Mr Collins to the proud & prejudiced Miss Elizabeth and Mr Darcy.
The costume, and sets are stunning, but pale into incignificance with the transfixing electricity between the principles. The sub-plots bubble along portrayed in styles varying in style from the deepest pathos to almost pantomime delivery.
You really do have to watch this over and over to get all the subtle nuances. I promise you won't get bored doing so.

excellent film a must to anyones collection, i dare anyone to say they do not enjoy watching mr Darcy an absolute classic.
