Praktica Mini Digital Camera

I dont know anything about digital cameras,i picked this one because i knew that Praktica is a well known make,I wanted one that was going to be simple to use also small enough to go in my handbag.This mini camera gives me everything i was looking for in a first digital camera.

I like this little camera because it is very easy to use, I bought it for my son who likes to take photo's but doesnt like carrying a big camera about with him, so this little camera is ideal as it is about the same size as his mobile phone so he can just put it in his pocket. It takes excellent photo's very clear also it doesnt cost the earth in batteries as they seem to last quite a while before having to change them, it takes sd cards so he can take as many photo's as he wants, its got a 30 second vidio which is about as long as his phone has. We didn't get the operating manual with it but it seems very straight forward to use, it also takes black & white photo's so he can be a bit creative with the photo's he's taking, my son is 12 and he has mastered how to use it so all in all an excellent buy. Plus my son is over the moon with it.

Hi - We have a Praktica Mini camera but no handbook. Can anyone tell me how to save images to the card as at the moment it is just saving to the camera's image memory. Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise the camera is great.

I bought this as a 'going out' camera. You know, you end up using your phone or buying a disposable. This fits in your pocket without getting in the way and has a proper flash. The pictures are not as good as the holiday snaps you take with your fancy 8MP SLR, but it will take the piccies without any hassle and it records perfectly how you were too drunk to hold it steady later on in the night. You don't need a fancy, big memory card either. I got a 1Gig one so (battery willing) I am able to take no less than 650 snaps in a night.
I also keep it in my car, so that if I have an accident or whatever, I can record the moment. If it gets nicked, I get new for old on a digital camera;)

Been playing with this camera for a week now and am impressed.

Its a small as a modern mobile - takes a good 3mp picture with realistic colour - copes well with low light conditions. Has macro, red-eye, digital zoom and video settings. Operating it is simple, with buttons in practical places - I would recommend it for someone who isn't used to technology. 1mb = 1 photo at finest setting so 128mb SD/MMC card (max) is ample.

Takes a second or two for the power to come on but photo to photo is not a problem. As usual the batteries need replacing quite often - so I would recommend rechargeable 2 x aaa. As usual, in some lights sometimes difficult to see the screen.

As long as you are not interested in optical zoom, or enormous fingers I would say buy this.
