I never get tired of watching Jackie chan. This film is no exception it is action all the way and to think that he and his team do their own stunts[in fact four of his team were hospitalised after doing a scene where they fall out of a bus]. This film is as good as it gets for action.

This film is among the best action movies of all time.
Jackie chan does more stunts and amazing martial arts than anything i have seen.

Every fight scene is so good that it`s funny!

I like action films i love jackie chan films love prison break and i have lots of jackie chan films alot of his cmedy ones he did then got alot of serious ones he did he is just good all round

I think this film is a good introduction to Jackie Chan of his older days (altho this film did help propell him to Hollywood).

Best things about this DVD is the good blend of humour\acttion\kung fu (If thats the right style) and altho the story line may seem flimsy to most i think its a nice easy story to follow.

In my opinion this is one of Jackie Chan's greatest films. I watched this film when it was first released in this and when I saw it on E-bay I had to have it. The reason's I buy Jackie Chan films are, he does his own stunts and you know they are real not some dodgy Hollywood special effects. And his films in comparison to American action films have about 1/100 of the budget.

i love jackie chang films since i was little and i now collect all types of martial arts films if there is any more films run them past me and i will have a look

Jackie Chan stars and directs this police comedy thriller from the mid eighties. This period in this viewers mind is is most exciting and entertaining.

The plot centres on a police investigation into a local crime lord. Chan must protect a witness and battle the internal politics of law enforcement. Add to that the continuous attacks from the lead villains cronies. The film is a mix of serious drama and comic relief in Chans typical style.

The film introduces themes from a cops point of view including the fear involved with putting ones life on the line. It also looks at the frustration that occurs when the law protects the guilty instead of the innocent.

Chans earlier films were generally more traditional Kung Fu movies dealing with specific Martial Art styles. Two of his best being 'Snake in the Eagles Shadow' and 'Drunken Master'. If you prefer this style this film may not be for you. In 'Police Story' he contemporises his fighting style into an acrobatic boxing technique.

The stunt work is some of the best from Chan and his stunt team. It includes one scene that was borrowed by Stallone in the film 'Tango and Cash'. The action leaves you shaking your head in disbelief at times the only recent example of this that this writer can think of is Tony Jaa. 'Police Story' is the perfect tonic for those fed up with CGI technology. Chan gives us blood, sweat and tears throughout the 90 minutes.

If you want to check out the sequels do not expect quite the same quality but they are good if you liked this one. My further recommendations are 'Wheels on Meals', 'Dragons Forever' and 'Armour of God'. The former two films have Chans 'brothers' Sammo Hung and Yuen Biau who are both fantastic, giving a different spin on fighting styles. The latter includes a Chan stunt that nearly costs him his life.

This is by far one of THE 'must have' titles if you are a Jackie Chan fan. From the opening scene at the 'Shante Town' it is non stop action all the way through, with some incredible stunts performed by Jackie himself and his excellent stunt team. This is one my favourite Jackie chan films and I personally dont think he has done anything better. One thing I was a little dissapointed with was how similar ( if not identical to )the 'Double Decker' Bus scene was to that in Golgo 13 ( Sonny Chiba ) and Rush Hour to some extent, having said that he does put his own 'spin' on it and it is a truly incredible scene.
