Poirot - Agatha Christie's Poirot - Complete Collection (DVD)

You get so many episodes any Poirot fan will be delighted. I have been watching or days and because all the episodes are so different I am still surprised. 'Poirot' does not stick to a set format like Columbo or Murder she wrote and the episodes are not chronological so you can watch them in any order.The sets and costumes are outstanding and if you like period dramas I'm sure this will appeal to you. Any fan of crime drama will LOVE this box set. The production quality is very good and the packaging the DVDs comes in is simple but nice, and keeps the DVDs safe and clean. The menu is clear and easy to use, the boxes and DVDs are labeled with the individual episodes. There are no unnecessary extras which often jack up the price. I bought mine for £55, £20 less than the high street.I wish all box sets were this comprehensive. I can not recomend this highly enough.(But I always was an Agatha christie fan).

As far as I am concerned, there are only two ways to play the character of Hercule Poirot: the David Suchet way and the Peter Ustinov way. Although in both cases, Poirot is Belgium (and NOT French), these are two very distinct characters. I suggest sampling before buying such a big set. If you decide you like Hercule Poirot as performed by David Suchet, this is the set for you.
If your memory is as good/bad as mine, you can have fun from the minute you get the set, and there will be no end: after the first time you watch all 57 episodes (in each episode, try solving the case. You may get it right, but did you manage to do it with the right reasons and using all the clues?), you can go over the episodes -- this time, in a random order -- and notice all the small details; maybe you will do better this time. On top of the entertainment, you get to exercise your memory (I know I need it).

Having seen some episodes on TV, and consider this to be an excellent series I decided to purchase the set. David Suchet is outstanding as Poirot, with Hastings and his secretary also giving excellent performances.

I have never read the books, but I do consider the TV adaptation to be oscar winning!
