Pocahontas (DVD 2005)

Walt Disney Animated Story of the daughter of a Native American tribe chief and English soldier who share a romance when English colonists invade 16th century Virginia.

Capt John Smith leads a rag-tag band of English sailors & soldiers to the New World to plunder its riches for England. Meanwhile, in this "New World," Chief Powhatan has pledged his daughter, Pocahontas, to be married to the village's greatest warrior. Pocahontas, however, has other ideas. She has seen a vision of a spinning arrow, a vision she believes tells her change is coming. Her life does indeed change when the English ship lands near her village. Between Ratcliffe, who believes the "savages" are hiding the gold he expected to be plentiful, and Powhatan, who believes these pale newcomers will destroy their land, Smith and Pocahontas have a difficult time preventing all-out war, and saving their love for each other.

With it's almost 3-D realistic animation, and it's striking similarities in storyline to 'Romeo and Juliet', this film is an almost guaranteed hit with all children.... and children at heart!

A Rather Predictable, but still a wholesome family Disney Movie.

I've started a childhood DVD collection, and this was the chespest Pocahontas i could find and extra good as is special edition.

i decided to buy it as i loved it when i was younger. recommend this movie for anyone all the family. there is nothing i dislike about it.

A charming Disney film with some brilliant songs, and with one of the clearest moral messages in any of the animations.

i wanted this for my daughter shes 5 and it will make a very lovely xmas present for her im really pleased ive brought this item im lovin it!! xx

This was bought as a present for my Granddaughter, so I dont think I'm the one to be giving an assesment, still someone keeps asking for one so I am just explaining my situation,

This film will be enjoyed by everyone! I bought it to entertain my cousin (8 years old). He loved it and I sat down and watched it with him and I thought it was great.

I have seen the film on numerous occasions over the years and never get bored of it. It is such a great film!!!

Brilliant film, good storyline based on the true story! Beautiful graphic and songs that will entertain the whole family!

How can any one write anything bad about a Disney Movie. It is an excellent film for all ages (NOT JUST YOUNG CHILDREN). From the quality of the film to the perfection of both songs and music - this film is a must for any avid Disney film lover.

i have always liked this film. when i was a kid it was one of my favourites. Im really please i am able to share this love of disney films with my 3 year old daughter. i like the songs in this film and i love the talking willow tree. I bought this dvd to add to my disney dvd collection that i am collecting for my children

i loved this film as a child and only had it on video so decided to buy the dvd for my daughter. It's a great classic film loved by all the family

This DVD was not a Disney original as implied in the desciption but a copy. I am therefore very disappointed.

i have lots of disney dvds been collecting them since i was little,i will pass them onto my neices and nephews when they are older to enjoy them. i loike the quality of the disney dvds.

i love disney films and am replacing my vhs for DVDs.
