I had seen this box set in the shops and was so keen to buy it but the prices ranged greatly. When I saw Planet Earth advertised on E-Bay I placed a bid and won. I received a perfect boxset still in its packaging.
This series is absolutely magical! When I get a moment to myself a put one of the 5 DVD's on and get caught up in a world which I didnt know existed. I have laughed and cried whilst watching this and would recommend it to anybody. Fantastic viewing highly recommended!

I bought planet earth as having seen the program on the tv i found it stimulating, awe, inspiring and sad. sad because by the time my daughter is old enough to understand some of these animals may be extint. so the dvd is both an educational tool and a reminder for both myself and my daughter

Planet Earth is absolutely amazing,in this series they show you places, animals, & insect that you never even thought existed, there are millions of species we dont know about and millions discovered each year and they are incredible important to our planet. This series get close up on our planet for hours of amazement. 10/10 for interest

It is an excellent show with educational value. All the dvds are excellent, just would like to recommend it to anyone with children and an interest in wildlife as David Attenborough is definitely at his best.

Outstanding photography reflecting the latest technology and also the patience of the world's best nature cinematographers.
Perhaps aspects of the theme have been dealt with more systematically in other Attenborough productions which have always been in a class of their own, but I feel this latest series comes up the best on today's big flat screen television sets.
A must for those who share a concern for our planet and its future.

I bought this for my husband as a birthday present as I knew he wanted it, did not think that it was something I would like as I do not watch nature programms.
My husband was watching it when I came home from University one day, so I ended up watching as well, ......... I was amazed.
The camera work and photography is spectacular, those camera men/women put themselves at great risk to capture amazing footage. The commentary is excellent, as you would expect from a seasoned professional.
Planet earth shows our planet as you have never seen before, with views that you are likely to never see again. I reallylike the 'behind the scenes' at the end of each episode, showing how they achieved the imagery shown and what lengths and technology were used to obtain it.
If you have never been a fan of nature programms before, like myself, I would highly recommend watching this as it outstanding, if you are a fan, then you will love it.

i liked it simply because i had already seen it on BBC.Its stunning camera work, aerial shots and the shear beauty of the places makes it a worthwhile buy.I wanted to buy it because I thought was a unique work and need to have it watch it again when i get time.May be get some inspriation and paint some of the secereies.

I decided to buy the Planet Earth DVD as a christmas present for my brother. I actually decided to buy all my christmas presents on ebay this year and it worked out really well. The product turned up in time for christmas and was half the price of the high street store. Well recommended.

This dvd has some of the best footage of our planet that you are ever likely to see. It shows that there are hundreds of amazing things on our planet that most of us would never have known about. The team working on the planet earth series have done an amazing job. I loved the strange and wonderful animals shown that I never knew existed.
This DVD comes highly recommended. I enjoyed myself imensely.

I decided to buy this box set of dvd's firstly because I love the natural world and secondly they were a bargain. These dvd's are the pinnacle of filming and narration of our amazing planet. If you love and are fascinated by this wonderful earth we are temporary passengers on, then buy this box set. It is probably worth the £30+rrp, but can be sourced for around £10 on ebay, some new some watched once.
The quality of filming is remarkable and you will sit fixated to the tv screen wondering how some shots were filmed, whilst at the same time learning the intriguing traits of some amazing creatures and the physical aspects of our planet, from the expert narration of David Attenborough.
Simply a must for anyone who is even remotely interested in nature.
Whether you would watch these dvd's many more times is debatable, but then how many films would you watch more than once?

I bought these DVD's for my eight year old son as a present. After watching the serious on television I just had to get them on DVD for my son! Amazing images and gripping footage not only in the animal world but also in the world we live. Very educational for both the young and old!! Narrated by the great Sir David Attenborough. It's a definite must have.

I was told, maybe a year ago, that Planet Earth is the only HD DVD that was actually filmed using an HD camera. Most films are upscaled or remastered, and although looking better in '1080p' than on standard DVD, its pretty obvious that the resolution is about 720. As they say, you can't polish a turd.

Planet Earth in HD is a visual masterpiece, and I have no reason to disbelieve my friend about the HD camera because it is by far and away THE BEST RESOLUTION YOU WILL SEE SO FAR ON YOUR HD TV.

It also helps that the series is stunning too.

The mountains and water might as well be in your room with you....it really is that real.

So many people (like myself) have got the maximum setup to play HD to its full potential but we do not seem to be receiveing the DVD's to justify what we own, but Planet Earth will show you what your hard earned money is all about.

an excellently put together compilation. i would strongly reccomend them to anyone who is interested in nature programmes.

The filming of planet earth is top class. David Attenborough's narration is top class. The presentation and the actual content is top class.

Brilliant Boxset, well worth buying if under £20 as it will inspire even the people least interested in nature.

This DVD makes you think about the planet and what people are doing to it.Should we have the right to distroy rain forests and the sea's .This dvd is superb and I have watched this show on TV and bought the dvd.5 star well worth the money buy it watch it then watch again.

Well where to start. I have just finished watching the last of the five dvds and there wasn't a minute that went by that I wasn't truely gripped by the content.
Simply stunning camera work including many outstanding slow motion clips so you can really see events in full detail.
And the narration throughout by the best man in the business, David Attenborough.
The first four dvds are split into sections for example, caves, deserts, ice worlds etc. At the end of each section there is a short part about how a certain part of that section was made/filmed. The fith dvd looks at the future of wildlife and the ever increasing human population and the troubles they will face and possible answers.
I can assure you that this is one dvd set that you will be glad you bought and will treasure for the rest of your life. I know I shall be watching it many times over in the future.

A big 10 out of 10 from me and I look forward to what else the BBC will produce in the future.
