I have loved this film since i was a child i grew up watching it at my grandparents and have wanted it for years and i am now very happy that i finally have it my whole family love this film and now my son aged 3 loves it so it is continuing to be loved through my family and am hoping it will still be in years to come it is well worth watching if you have never seen it if you love cheesy love theamed film with music that is fun.

) My parent rented this film for me and my brother when we were about 10/11. We rented it so often (every weekend) the guy at the shop let my parents buy it in the end. We continued watching it pretty much every day for 5 years until girlfriends came on the scene. The VHS was replaced because the 1st copy gave up the ghost.
Anyway the film it-self is fantastic. Basic story line about a pirate who wants more than sailing the seas and wants to meet girls. On reflection its more of a musical type film as there are many hilarious songs and dances.
My 2 daughters (5 & 2) along with my 3 nieces and 2 nephews love film like GREASE, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and yes HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2. The PIRATE MOVIE is very much like these musical films, i.e boy meets girl, singing dancing with some sort of story line. Take it from me this film is Funny and can be watched be young or old
I love this film and watching my family watch other musical films got me thinking. Tried digging out the old VHS was fine but actually having a Video player to watch was another thing. So my search begun and sure enough not available in shops but good old EBAY. I was surprised to know that the Pirate Movie was released on DVD in 2003. Shame on me for waiting so long. No anymore, bought this morning for a mere £5.98 including postage.
I simply cant wait and my kids, nieces & nephews await with baited breath.
So what are you waiting for!!!!! Search for the Pirate Movie staring Christopher Atkins

I bought this DVD because this is a movie I loved many years ago and was feeling rather sentimental.
I love the light-heartedness of this movie and the completely tongue in cheek style in which it is made. Looking a bit dated nowadays but not so dated that it spoils the movie

DVD - The Pirate MovieI first saw this movie when I was about 10 years old (in the 1980's) and loved it. I thought the songs were brilliant and funny. The characters were excellent and costumes colourful and typically 'eighties'. Since buying this DVD and watching it through 'grown -up' eyes with my own 10 year old daughter, I saw it differently. I understood the inuendoes, noticed more risque accessories to those costumes, watched what was going on in the background with the supporting actors and realised you could see it on a different level. I still absolutely LOVE it! However, if anyone watches it for the first time, be warned .... it is VERY cheesy. There are moments when the actors talk to the camera which are a bit cring-worthy.
I recommend this film to all 10 year olds and then to be rewatched as adults!!!
