Philips RQ1095 Electric Shaver

This is the first electric shaver I have bought in 30 years, I have been impressed by the comments of other people who own one of these shavers and I have started needing a second shave during the day, so I thought I would give this shaver a try.
The Philips RQ1095 Electric Shaver, what a fantastic shaver, I have to admit that I never thought that an electric shaver could shave that well and so easily. It is easy to use, easy to clean and a pleasure to use, what more can you ask?
It takes an hour to charge, when fully charged it gives a 65 minute count down of the minutes of shaving time left, when finished shaving it even reminds you to clean it, I can have a full shave in less than 4 minutes. If you only use the shaver once in a while then just use very hot water, it works fine, if however you use it once or twice a day then use the cleaning system.
Anyone thinking of buying an electric shaver? Well buy this one, you will not be disappointed.

This was a key purchase for me. Having never learnt to shave "properly" (i.e. with a razor) I've previously been a devotee of the foil variant. Recent experience of these, however, has not been good, so this time around I thought I'd try something different.

After extensive - and I mean extensive - research I settled on the Arcitec 1095. I decided to treat myself to this top-of-the-range model in order to be able to enjoy all the toys it included but also because others had praised its ability to give a close shave.

Well, I've not been disappointed. In terms of performance the Philips gives me the closest - and quickest - shave I've ever had. Its triple heads are easy to use and make the whole process, for the first time in my life, a pleasure rather than a chore.

As for the toys? Well, with electric motors, neon displays and jet washes I'm in gadget heaven.

So if you're in the market for a rotary shaver, you'll not be surprised by now that I can't recommend this product highly enough. In a word - it's FANTASTIC!

This is a wonderful shaver, I have used many over the years and none compare to this one, all of its features are user friendly and the shave is really close and clean excellent don't think twice buy the product. A+++++++++

I have bought top of the range Philips razors for at least 20 years and this is by far the best one yet, It shaves closer a lot faster than any of my previous models, the last one being the HQ Smarttouch. So I am very very pleased with thi the lastest one.

Great shaver, as long as you do follow the instructed method of 1) How to shave with it & 2) It does take a couple of weeks for your stubble growth to adjust before shaving gets easy. It does do a close shave and takes me about 4 mins. which wasn’t as quick as my old Remington, which isn’t as closer as the Philips.

The cleaning unit that comes with it is a waste if time really, as you find yourself just using the rinse under a hot tap method every day. Although using the cleaning unit once a month gives the shaving head a thorough clean.

Looks good, excellent value for money, best electric shaver I have ever had. Shaver is over £245.00 in Argos, I got it for £150.00.

This razor is excellent. Very easy to use and quiet in operation giving a great shave. It comes with the jet wash which does a brilliant cleaning job the only down side is having to pay £5 per month for the jet wash solution to put in the jet wash. I would certainly recommend this razor without hesitation as it does exactly what it says on the box. I bought it from e-bay at a considerably cheaper price than the £250 rrp it was a bargain!

This Philips razor is of the highest quality and second to none.The price paid was excellent which made it a bargain. Being honest I would not have paid the High Street asking price!

I can only conclude by stating that I am most delighted with my purchase!

I have always used an electric shaver and I must say, this one has so far given me the best shave yet! Its so smooth around my face and neck area and I have not had any razor burn from it yet! Good buy!

I love every thing about it the way you clean it its so easy and having two sepret ways to charge it up is very handy and it look and fills very luxurious the best shaver ive owend

This is the only shaver my husband has had that actually reaches all parts of his face and the fiddley parts of his neck easily. He is delighted with it.

Probablt like most people I regard shaving to be a real bind and have always been disappointed at how ineffective a lot of electric shavers are. On that basis I bought this model from Philips and have been pretty impressed. The good points are how easy it is to clean, the smoothness of the shaver heads on your skin(definitely better than other Philips models I have had), the display concerning how much charge is left is useful and overall it does shave well. However, the shave is still not as good as a wet shave, I still do have some areas where the shaver struggles to cut all the bristles requiring repeated attention and the sideburn clipper could do with being a bit wider. Overall I am happy with it as I think it is the best shaver I have had but it is definitely not perfect.

Pricey but worth it. Almost as close as a wet shave. Carbon detailing looks good but is there a point to it? Highly recommended.

Hello, before buying Philips RQ1095 i bought another Philips electric shaver for about 40£ and i was very impressed by it's performance, but i wanted some features that this shaver didn't have so i thought this expensive RQ1095 will be perfect. I was terribly disappointed. You have to run over the same place ten times and there will still be some hair left. Neck?! Forget about shaving your neck with this thing. It left my neck all red, with several cuts and a lot of hair. Even battery lasts only about one day - i mean if i charge it fully (65min on the led) use it for 7 minutes turn it of then the next day i want to shave i have to charge it again since it doesn't even start (0min flashing on the led). I'm using this 40£ shaver and am very happy with it. RQ1095 is a waste of money! As one person said in his review that this shaver has a high rating probably because Philips company employees rated it :)

Bit expensive, but worth the money. The shaving will never beat a razor, however, this shaver does really offer a good shave.

my son always used cheap electric shavers and was never very happy with the end result. i purchased the above shaver which we saved £100 on shop price and hes never had a better shave. one very happy son. regards 7867mary

With out a dout as close as a razor & vary easy to clean.How ever i found it to cut to close and after the second time gave me razor bumps.So i tried nivea face cream for men,im very happy with the result.

Although I still feel that a wet shave has something an electric razor misses, nevertheless this philips model is the best one I have had in over 50 years. Whilst it is somewhat overpriced because of its cleaning capabilities that I can well do without the razor itself is marvelous giving a closer shave because of the extra cutting rings and is a dodle to keep clean. Go for it

I tend to use an electric razor in between wet shaves as a quick fix. I always consider the wet shave to be a proper shave and anything else a compromise.

This is still the case!
Even though the RQ1095 is a good shaver and looks really cool, it is no better (as a shaver) than my old 1st generation Philips Cool Skin - that it replaces.
It still misses some neck hairs and you also feel you need to shave again in the late afternoon.

It is definitely not worth its retail price of £250 or even the best online price of about £150. I managed to get it for £102 on ebay and even that seems a bit overpriced for it.

I have been considering buying one of these razor's for some time but was put off by crazy retail prices.Having secured this brand new one for half price, I was delighted, however, having used it for a few weeks i was less than impressed with it's ability to give a close shave!!

Great shaver, close shave. Effective cleaner to save you having to strip the shaver. Only discppointing side is that there are lots of parts, leave a lot of clutter around the place.

After being a long time user of braun shavers I wanted to try this new philips arcitec shaver as many online reviews described it as being the best shave and I have to agree. The shaver head glides so smoothly over your skin you hardly feel it shaving your hair and it is much quiter than traditional shavers too, so doesn't wake your partner when you've got an early start! I would highly recommend this shaver to anyone considering a new electric shaver and wanted to try the philips - definitely worth the extra money for the top of the range arcitec.
