Performance does not justify price!

I'm not one who can write in style so I'll stick to the objective
About me: Been using electric shaver on/off alongside Gillette Mach 3/Fusion for 5 years now ( that's about 4 years after I started shaving). My first and only other electric shaver is Philishave 7 series (standard lift & cut rotary shaver with considerably less shaving surface than boasted by the Arcitec). Before anyone starts suggesting, I should say use the E-Shaver in circular motion, shave just after I wash my face in the morning, and not right after I scrub it and therefore my skin should be primed for a shave, not too soft not too hard. My experience with the 7 series was great. I even dared to use it to shave my head clean should I need to.
My expectation: A no nonsense shaver that will get the job done quickly as to minimise the possibility of irritation without pulling, or tugging. I expect it to be able to deal with long hair, short stubble and even the ingrown hair for a close shave comparable though not exactly matching razor blade shave (for nothing ever will). It should be sufficient to clean and empty the hair chamber after four regular shaves.
The outcome: I wouldn't spend £199 on this shaver. Yes it does the job but the value for money ratio is so mediocre that it just does not justify blowing a sizeable hole in your wallet. It does not deal in the sensitive area well enough. My chin feels more razor-burnt than when I use the Fusion because it requires numerous strokes to clean it. The sideburn-shaving is efficient, but then again, since the contour there is almost flat, it should not be a challenge for any shaver, electric or not! This is attributable to the fact that the circular holes (the holes designed to catch the short stubble) are centrally located in each shaving head as opposed to within the rings, ensuring that more strokes are required for a close shave.
The hair catchment chamber is too small. Clearly it was sacrificed for the pivot head (which again did not do a good job adapting to my face), meaning you have to empty the chamber quite regularly, or in my case, after two shaves, to make sure that my other half doesn't complain!
Overall this is a good shaver, but it clearly does not justify moving up the ladder. I would rather stick to the HQ8290 series instead for its shaving head have the holes dispersed.
