Philips RQ1051 Electric Shaver

The good news is that this is a great shaver, but I've used Philips for years (tried Remmington once and went straight back to Philips), and every Philishave has been good. This is no worse, nor any better than my other shavers. That's the good news. The bad news is the price. I was lucky on e-bay, but the usual price is crazy and, good though this shaver is, it's not worth anything like the usual price. Sorry, Philips, but that's the truth.

I looked at all the reviews before buying this razor.Some great reports and some bad reports,but in the end purchased one off ebay for a fraction of the retail price.Good thing i did not go to boots and buy one,because they are just not worth that sort of money.Trimmer not big enough,not very sturdy,and no case to put it in.But on the other hand,WHAT A GREAT CLOSE SHAVE.

good quality, great design. Even if it doesn't come cheap, in general is good value for money, expecially if bought through ebay (35% discount)!

This item is probably the best item that i have bought in my entier life because it shaves every single hair of, from massive to tiny, Big To small etc. I would recommend this item to everyone else.

I have found this electric shaver very practical & handy. It is quicker & easier than a wet shave, and provides just as close shave.
It has a handy trimmer & is very easy to clean & charge.
Overall I rate as a good worthwhile purchase & have no regrets!

Very good shaver ever on the market, would highly recommend. It works very well with the electric shaver solution from Lab Series. Also very easy to clean and it's waterproof. One bad thing is that it doesn't has a charger input on the shaver itself, it needs to be put into the stand and charge from there.

This is a fantastic product and quite simply the best electric shaver I've ever owned. This is light, very stylish, smooth across the skin and offers the closest shave of any electric shaver I've ever used.

This is the best electric shaver so far. I was surprised with the close shave almost like a razor. Very comfortable to use and very fast. Now I need only half the time every morning. Charges quickly too.

I have used Philishavers for about the last 40 years,no other make came anywhere close to matching them. This one is even better, giving me the closest shave I have ever had. The only bad points are the price and the fact that it does not sit comfortably in my hand while shaving, maybe because I am left handed but it is definitely not as comfortable to hold as previous models. That aside it is a great shaver.

after i used this shave the first time i was really happy with it second time it gave me cuts but still could not shave on my neck area.totally useless and disappointed even though it was fully charged

This is a great shaver --very quiet to use and very smooth --copes with two day growth effortessly. Battery seems to have good life -I have been a Remmington fan for many years , after using this shaver I would not change back.

A light easily handled shaver that shaves closely. The only thing against it is its charger stand, that takes up a lot of space.

Had the RQ1051 for a few weeks now and wont be going back to a wet blade shave.
I decided to change to an electric shaver now im not able to get a hold of sensor blades and dont get on with the latest wet blade shavers as they tended to pull a lot.
It has taken a couple of weeks to get used to the RQ1051 but from day 1 it was as close as a blade around the mouth, chins and sides of face. Was not as good on the neck to start, where the skin is a little looser but now its excelent.
It may take slightly longet to shave but can live with that for the ease of use and convenience. The build quality is excellent and the 1 hour charge seems to last forever.
The only down side is the retractable trimmer isnt very good but then again i dont use it.
Overall im very impressed and would recommend it to anyone :)

Having always had Philips I decided not to change. I am very well satisfied with my choice - the RQ 1051. It is unusual looking but being made of plastic, it is light and fits very well in the hand. I like the polished black case, it looks smart. It is very quiet, just a purr. It gives an excellent shave, particularly on the soft skin of the throat. For me, who has always suffered shaving rash there, this is great. In fact, I rate this as the best aspect of an excellent razor. There is no travelling case supplied. A pity - one would only cost a few pence to produce. I would feel it was better prevented from damage if it was packed inside its own bespoke case. Washing afer use keeps it clean but means you have to leave the blades exposed to damage whilst they dry out. I thought having to leave it in its stand for charging would be a problem but you have to charge it so rarely this is not so. I can get one months shaveing with one charge. The beard trimmer is quite small but again, I found thid no problem. I do not have any particular dislikes about the razon - it was an excellent buy. JCR

This is the best shaver I have ever bought,had Philishavers all my life.Im now 71 yrs, close shave, no sore neck,easy to clean.one word SUPERB

Having had two previous shavers both Philips I bought another because of the excellent reliability and longevity of the product. The Arcitec is the best by far as it contours really well around the jaw and neck without irritaing the skin. Highly recommended.

Best shaver I have ever bought.I have used Phillips electric shavers for about 40 years now This is the 4th purchase and the best by a mile.

the Philips RQ1051 Electric Shaver is my first shaver. its nearly as good as a gillet mach3 but with out the cuts and stinging after a cut throat shave.

+ fits well in the hand and looks good
+ Charges quick
+ easy to clean
+ reaches all areas quite well

- Not a quick shave, you keep having to go over the same areas
- Not worth full price, worth about a third or RRP

when i was younger i tried electric shavers and they were crap till i got one of these, it even shaves under my chin where i had difficulty getting smooth wet shaving, this one is fantastic, takes you about a week to get used to the difference but now i can shave while drinking my coffee in the morning getting really smooth, smoother than wet shaving! and saving time, and i have a very thick beard. every man should have one!
