Philips DVDR880 DVD Recorder

I bough this item on the grounds that it was descibed as in 'excellent working order'.What I recieved infact will not power on and there is something clearly broken inside the unit as you can here if you tilt it from side to side, therefor clearly NOT as described. I have made several attempt to claim full refund from this seller to no avail, he has been insulting,judgement & has accused me of damaging the unit. Why on earth would I go near the unit far less attempt to force it open with a screwdriver as he alleges the unit was in excellent working order? It is my considered opinion that this seller dispatched this item to me(late by his own admission)knowing it to be in un-sellable condition as described. I sent the unit back to him by recorded delivery at the further cost of £11.74 to myself over a week ago informinging him by email beforehand that I would do so, he confirmed & told me he would refund me, yet again he has failed to copmly with my request.I am out of pocket here to the amount of £42.74 and as such expect to be refunded to that amount in full.It is my understanding that the seller has now making a claim against parcel force for compensation due to transit damage,which in my considereed opinion will be to no avail because I would say that the item was at least adequately packaged,but anyway in my oppinion is in fact a seperate matter between the seller & parcelforce & does not count as an excuse or reason to delay refunding me my money due immediatley. I am extremly angry over this whole buisness as it has caused me considerable distress beides being out of pocket to the tune of £42.74, something I can well do without. The seller has NOT contacted me in any way for over a week, neither to confirm he has the unit back or to confirm my refund. I have found his overall attitude throughout this transaction as being a total disgrace.I feel I have given him adequit information and time over this matter, he on the other hand has said or done nothing that would encourage me to believe a word he says.I have now launced a complaint against this seller with paypal & it is now my hope that ebay will investigate this matter fully and swiftly, & as such would hope to be informed by ebay,by email,as to what their procedure will be.
