a little on large side to fit in cabinet also a bit complicated to copy from our freeveiw box onto dvd overall a little disappointed with it only good thing was the price i paid for it.

First class product have no problems with it but one. It's the hand set it seams to take ages to operate after you press a button on it about 5 seconds, which seams a long time when you press a few buttons to record something.

Having used a Philips Model before i wanted this as i knew exactly how to use it.Which is the reason i bought this item I`d already owned a philips DVD recorder And wanted to continue with same format with Collection of DVDs i have recorded in my collection .I.E i did not want any Compatability Problems with another Brand!.Plus as i said before i know how to use them inside out.

A sensible, easy to use DVD recorder producing good quality images without the dreaded 'dvd jitter'. The earlier versions of Phillips software (as with this machine) mean more space for titling each recording, and easy editing - if required. Later Phillips machines only allow nine characters per title and do not return you to the index screen when you press the stop button (you have to search for it!!!)
All in all, a good buy and you can now get these as 'branded' for under £40 on ebay - less for secondhand

brought it becoz needed a dvd recorder.... was an ok buy for the price but didnt really fink too muck of it after recieveing it.. coulntd do certain things i wanted it to do.

i brought my dvd recorder like one listed thinking it would be easy to use, a year on iv still not managed to work it out have instructions too. will be selling item for far less than i brought it for was £175.00 a year ago now they going alot cheeper. hope someone else can work these things out, i have had other dvd players and have had no trouble with them.

Well I like the fact I can record DVDs but its bit complicated and came without a manual. However, I found one on the internet. Will have to get used to it. But no regrets buying it at all.

Secondhand RecorderI bought this from ebay and found it is reasonably easy to use. It is qite straight forward in operation and makes tranfering camcorder footage to DVD a piece of cake.
I did not have an instruction booklet but found it extremely easy to locate and download from the Philips website.
If you are thinking of buying one then do so as I would think anyone could use it without too many problems.

) I have had one of these for a few years and have always been happy with its good picture quality and general performance and personally i found this very easy to use and set up with its menu driven options, i bought this for spares parts as mine did have a slight problem but all fixed now with a part from this :)

The DVDR70 is a fantastic machine although a little dated. It takes a while and several readings of the instruction book to really get the hang of it. Minus points. It will only record on DVD+RW although it will play both formats + and - and CD's
The DVD+RW are readily available on EBay at a reasonable cost. This recorder has 6 recording lengths 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, and 6 hours. Obviously the more recorded hours on a DVD+RW the lower the quality.
I purchased this machine to make hard copies of the films that I had recorded on my Sky + box, and it is totally sufficient for this purpose.
The DVD+RW are readily available on EBay at a reasonable cost. This recorder has 6 recording lengths 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, and 6 hours. Obviously the more recorded hours on a DVD+RW the lower the quality.
