Philips Analog Hard Disc Recorder
The overall build quality is good, though start up time takes around 30 seconds.
The machine is easy to connect via AV channel to a freeview box and the TV.
The instruction book is definitely worth reading to get benefit of the more intricate editing uses, and practice is need to perform these readily.
The HDD storage is very useful and you can still transfer to dvd, using fast dubbing.
Unusually for a machine of this price it has a usb front connector, which enables you to connect an external hard drive, but it must be formatted in FAT 32 or it will not read it.
The main disadvantage is that it does not have freeview built in.As the seperate boxes are cheap, this is a cheap way of getting a hard disc and dvd recorder in one,to add to a freeview box.
Overall would I buy this over others, well for the price yes, unless I had the chance of a sony branded one.
