The Phantom Of The Opera (DVD)

I've never seen the stage performance or any of the other movies made about Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera. However, I believe that nothing can top this production. The cast is amazing, the sets are astounding and the music... There are no words to describe the music... Marvellous is an understatement. This deluxe box brings you the 2-disc edition of the film, the 2-disc soundtrack and 8 stills from the movie. Certainly a must have!!

Very good.
Having seen the stage show about 8 times, I thought this might be dissapointing. Its not. Different in parts, but no part is worse than the stage show. Its sumptuous and very good thoughout.

Only critisism:- the casting of Ciarán Hinds as Firmin was not clever. He may be a superb actor, but he can't sing.

Loved this, good to have it on dvd to watch when ever I like. Well filmed and great sound means its like being in the theater watching it for real. A must buy for any one who loves this. :-)

fantastic film which follows the show very closely, can watch it again and again
i especially liked it when they kept showing flash backs which helped you to follow the story

stunning scenes brilliant acting by all of the cast,stunning action and absolutely beautiful voices,once seen i was captivated by the sheer excellence of the arrangements of the scenes music,costumes and the wonderful magic touch and expertise of Andrew Lloyd Webber.The disk2 showing how the film was made how the lake was built and formed on the stage of the opera house was brilliant to say the least especially when filled with millions of gallons of water for the boat scenes.this dvd is a collectors item in my estimation,it should be in any opera lovers estimation.My thanks and gratitude to all who helped make this beautiful dvd i hope Andrew Lloyd Webber comes up with another masterpiece as good as this one,but maybe that will be too bigger task this is brilliantly heart moving and exciting to say the least God bless all the cast and technicians for a giant of an opera brilliantly made and brilliantly filmed,producing a work of art 2nd to none in the whole wide world

Not having been lucky enough to see this when it was in London I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this Dvd and was not at all disappointed at having to settle for seeing a Dvd version instead of the real thing.
