Pete's Dragon (DVD 2001)

this film is a classic,its about a young orphan runs away to a maine town with his best friend dragon named elliott.things look good when a kind lighthouse keeper nora and her father (mickey rooney) take in peter and elliott,but elliott,s pranks land pete in trouble with the townsfolks.then when crooked salesman try to capture elliott its up to pete tp resue his magical friend,and in the process he discovers the real meaning of friendship and family.its just one of those films you can watch again and again

I gave this review a poor rating because I never received the DVD. This transaction went to a tribunal and fortunately it came out in my favour. This is all I wish to say on this particular item. It has given me a wake up call and forced me to step back from purchasing anything through e-bay for the moment. I know it was only a small sum of money, but it makes you think, what if I was buying a car?.......I know I'm a little of the beaten track with this review, but ironically, this is my first review and my first problem with a transaction. this is a fantastic classic kids film but also loved by teenagers and adults alike . its about a young orphan befriended by a cartoon dragon who gets him into all sorts of trouble funny family viewing

i love this film,i first saw it when i was a child so i thought i would buy it for my grandaughter as i am sure she will love it too.a brilliant walt disney film.

Fantastic old movie, sing-along! My son thinks it is just the best ever...

This is an old style Disney musical with a cartoon dragon, my kids enjoyed it (2,3 and 5). I'd say it would be suitable for up to 7 yr olds.
Definitely no exotic CGI but probably better for it, it's a cosy, uncomplicated feelgood film which is probably why it's a little more expensive than some more recent releases.

This is a much loved family film i brought it to replace a worn out video. Now the family can enjoy the film again.

this film was bought for my grand children and it is an excellent film for adults and children alike

my son just loves it we had it on video but needed to replace on d v d its a pleasant film to watch as a family

This is a great fun film for children and all of the family. We all enjoyed watching Pete's Dragon very much.We will be lending this to our friends.

I went to the pictures and saw this Disney classic (they make great films but also dreadful ones). I had it on video and watched it but have not seen it for about 15 years. I bought this and my 4 year old neighbour came to watch it - magic! Shelley Winters has a cameo as an awful old fat baglady (not the glamour girl we remember!) and Jim Dale is very good. Mickey Rooney is as superb as ever and Helen Reddy is stunning . Its a shame she is now almost forgotten. The star though is Eliot the dragon.The lovely songs help as well. I thoroughly recommend this . If you liked MARY POPPINS this is one to buy.

A great family film. There is the odd slightly scary moment for the little ones, but lots of fun music and dancing. My son loves it, he is 3 1/2. Follows the story of an orphan and his friend a large green friendly dragon. A great way to get over my sons fear of dragons, monsters etc.

I bought this item cause i though it was agood dvd and i want it this film a lot and it was a good deal and i don't have no regrads about it.

Brought this for my daughter as she loves Disney films. Brought back some good memories from when we watched it as kids. We've watched it a few times since as it has that watchability!!

I am updating my video collection of Disney films and this one was a very good bargain, and is liked by all my family. Also the ability to jump sections.

This is a film I remember from when my children were young and I thought it might interest my 3 year old granddaughter, who is into DVD's in a big way.

Her father (who is 31 by the way) refused to watch it as he said it would make him cry all over again, so Erin had to watch it in the car on the way to London, which kept her amused and not irritating either her parents or 6 week old brother!

Erin has now brought the DVD to my house to watch on a regular basis. It helps me to catch up with a few things, when I am babysitting.

it was bought for a friend of mine for his little boy,he loves the film and never has it off. his dad know,s every word of the movie as he has seen it that many times

i bought this dvd as i had it on video then we sold all videos then buying different dvds to build up our disney selection and has been a good while since i have seen it also my children and grand children have not seen this before

I bought this for my two young children. I remembered it from when i was young and thought they might also like it. They loved it! Especially my son, currently watches it daily! Very easy watching!

A really well made film. good story and animation. great performances from Jim Dale and Micky Rooney in particular. good songs. one of the top ten Disney films of all time im my opinion.
