An introduction to Post Bauhaus Peter Murphy

I went through my Goth period in the 1980's and saw Bauhaus live at the Guildford Civic. I have all of the usual CDs (Originally held on vinyl and now replaced) of that classic era and now felt it was time to branch into something new. I have listened to a few solo Peter Murphy tracks on his Myspace and was reasonably impressed and so decided to give this compilation a go...
It's definately NOT Bauhaus but this CD, a compilation of the work of Peter Murphy since he left Bauhaus, showcases his work very well. Covering a number of albums released over a ten year period it gives the listener an audio glimpse (If that's possible) of the work of Peter Murphy. It is a varied selection of tracks, I have yet to decide on which are the strongest as I have only played it few a few times. To my mind, none are weak (But it is a "Best Off", so that should almost go without saying).
His unique vocals are the strong point throughout the CD and I am definately not disappointed. I can't wait to compare this with the new Bauhaus CD due for release in March 2008.
It has certainly opened my ears and I shall be looking to increase my selection of his solo work in the future.
