An excellent lens

The first thing I did after re-reading the specs for this lens was to weigh it on the kitchen scales. The spec reads just under 14oz, it feels about a quarter of this, but either my scales are wrong, or the description is correct!
On the front of my K100D it is beautifully balanced, the auto-focus is fast and precise, making my hobby of wildlife snap shooting so much easier.
I bid for this lens because, over the years, I have built up a collection of Pentax lenses to use on my trusty ME-Super. I eschewed Digital for a long time, because of cost, until a High Street photo chain gave away K100Ds, complete with 18-55mm lens, for very little money.
My manual focus PKa lenses work perfectly well on this camera, but a good autumn at work left me able to seek out an auto-focus, genuine pentax, long lens. I got lucky.
My subjects tend to be small and fast moving, (Butterflies, other insects, songbirds). This rig gives me almost compact camera shooting time, but with SLR quality and versatility. I am very pleased with it, and already have a snap of a black and white Blackbird that I intend to submit to the BBC Wildlife magazine.
