Pearl Harbor (DVD 2001)

A fantastic story of love and war. The storyline is based on the love triangle with an unexpected twist and an even bigger one at the end which is so sad. I would recommend this film for the men and the boys.

The film is set in December 1941. The Japanese launch an assault on the US Navy battle fleet with devastating consequences. It the best film for you if you are a War film fan, with a bit of romance thrown in. It has explosions and every thing you could thing of. With a true story line, it is very moving, especially with a bizarre twist at the end.

I absolutely love Pearl Harbor.
It has a long story arc, telling of the attack on Pearl harbor, and the subsequent retaliation attack.
It is told throught the lives of two arimen who are best friends for life, and of their love for the same woman.
Brilliant effects, back up superb acting.

Rafe McCawley (Ben Affleck) and Danny Walker (Josh Hartnett) are childhood friends who both dream of flying. As the world becomes embroiled in World War II in the early 1940's, Rafe and Danny sign on with the United States armed forces, although America is still in an isolationist position. Eager to participate in combat, Rafe is compelled to join the British air fight against the Nazis, leaving his girlfriend, beautiful army nurse Evelyn Stewart (Kate Beckinsale) behind. When Evelyn and Danny are transferred to the military base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, they hear the news that Rafe has been shot down and killed. Hoping to move on after grieving, Danny and Evelyn find themselves in love. When Rafe returns alive, the three find themselves in an uncomfortable personal situation that is soon engulfed by the massive surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.

Putting aside their differences, Rafe and Danny join the desperate fight against the enemy invaders. The film's epic sweep intertwines Rafe and Danny's stories with the heroic efforts of such characters as "Dorrie" Miller (Cuba Gooding Jr.), a ship's cook turned fighter, Earl (Tom Sizemore), a courageous base mechanic, and Jimmy Doolittle (Alec Baldwin), the visionary pilot who would lead one of America's most famous counterattacks of the war. Dan Aykroyd also appears as the code breaking Captain Thurman and Jon Voight as President Franklin Roosevelt.

This film was really good in my opinion. .. bst freinds frm childhood. ..an aparent death. ..love for the same women.. nd much more. ..enthrilling dvd. ..well worth the money. ..x

Bought as a Christmas Present. Loved the film, very good story line, predictable in places, but overall an excellent film to watch if you have got 3 hours spare.

Had it on VHS, and replacing them all with DVD Ebay the ideal place to do this, The DVD was offered at good price, the feedback on the seller gave good reassurance and the security of Paypal is a bonus

Excellent film, brilliant action scenes and a true retelling of a horrifying historical event! Excellent for anybody who is a fan of films like Top Gun, with loads of really good dog-fighting and combat fighting.

Fantastic movie. I enjoy soppy love stories but this one had fantastic fighting scenes and you just get completely caught up in everything. By far the most depressing movie I've ever watched but I love it!! Its one of those that stays with you hours after the film has ended. Really makes you reflect.

bought this dvd because went to pictures when film first came out and relly enjoyed it and feel you can watch it over again as it is easy to watch.

based on a true story, pearl harbor is an amazing film following the bombing of peral harbor! with an all star cast and ground breaking special affects, this is one movie that takes oyu to the limits of the battlefield and the carnage that ensues! five star!

i love the fil altogether, the story line is just spot on. I decided to buy this DVD because i watched 'there you'll be music video, and i thought from the clips of the fil that is in the video looked very good. There is nothing i didnt like about it because it all played a big part in the film.

A good story close to the historical "truth". It is well presented and produced. The soundtrack is very effective in surround sound mode.

A Great film, very catchy but understanding. Extremely sad at the end, so make sure you have a box of tissues handy =)

I saw this film on TV a while ago. I thought it to be a very informative as well as intertaining film. This film has a wonderful cast, they really seem as if they have a true relationship between them not just a meeting one another on a film set, just another job. I think this is truly a must see film, one you will always remember as one of the modern greats.

This film is my daughters favourite and she wanted her own copy instead of borrowing her grandads. She is a great fan of Ben and enjoys his movies. This film also has a number of other famous actors.

I've seen this movie plenty times on the tv and finally decided to buy the thing. You know you catch a film that's been on over and over yet you still sit down and watch? Well Pearl Harbor, for me, is one of those movies. I can't resist the cheesy acting, OTT script and crappy romantic storyline which accompanies a very real and horrifying true story. A great way to pass a few hours while you iron, or if it's raining, and the actors are easy on the eye too! :)
