Not for honour, not for country, for his wife and child

‘Not for honour, not for country, for his wife and child’. Adapted from Tom Clancy’s best seller book comes the move ‘Patriot Games’. With A-list starts such as Harrison Ford who starts as Jack Ryan, this explosive thriller sees Ryan, former CIA analyst on holiday with his wife and daughter in London.
As he meets his family outside Buckingham Palace (where else of course) he becomes involved in an assassination attempt on a member of the Royal Family (Played by James FOX); as only an ex-CIA Patriot can. Ryan helps thwart the assailants and becomes a national hero. The subsequent knighthood however, comes at a price which places him and his family firmly in the sights of the terrorists.
Anyone who is a fan of Clancy’s work will love this film. Anyone who is not will still find it enjoyable. If only to see what Samuel L Jackson looks like in a Navy Uniform? The film is well paced and easy to follow. It’s a sound story with top notch acting.
The film was produced in 1992 and the DVD was first released in 2000.
