Pantera - Vulgar Display Of Power (CD 1992)

This album was released in 1992 when I was a mere 11 years old. I still remember the sheer energy of the music and how exhilarating it was and I can honestly say it still sounds as fresh today as it ever did.
This is one of those albums where every track is a masterpiece in it's own right from 'Walk', which is one of the best anthems of the rock world to date, through to 'This love' which I can assure you is no ballad! No sir, there are no 'B side' type fillers on this album.
I bought this CD as my original was on cassette and I'm replacing everything one by one. I my opinion this is a definite 'must have' album whether you remember it or not. So even if you're a younger person who listens to 'new rock' I would strongly recommend you get this album as I can pretty much guarantee this has influenced all the newer bands around.
Oh yeah, this isn't exactly radio friendly as the lyrical content is quite strong and it does contain obscenities in the song titles too. Children wouldn't pick up on the darker themes but there's no getting away from the swearing - there's lots of it.
All in all I can honestly say this is the best album Pantera released in probably the best era for this type of music. Highly recommended!!!

What can I say about this album? ITS AMAZING! So much anger and power put into a record, it should have blown every system it has ever been played on. Such classics as Mouth For War, Fucking Hostile, Rise, By Demons Be Driven and This Love really get the pulse going.
If you dont have this album buy it - you wont be disappointed!!

This is my favourite Pantera album...there are just so many great tracks on this album.
Hardcore metal at it's best with This Love being an excellent example of love gone bad - who aint been there?
the kind of music that really gets inside you and shows you that you aren't the only one who feels this way!

Well, Pantera was a mamoth influence on the Metal scene in the early 90's, thrashing their way through with big noise, heavy rhythms, and a killer attitude. I would recommend this as an excellent driving accompaniment, for the ultimate mean thrash racer, at neighbour annoying volumes is always best. This is one of my all-time favorite old-school metal albums.

this cd is a must for any metal fan. Pantera is one of the best metal bands of the 90s. The riff work is amazing. This gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

This is an all time classic cd from one of the greatest powermetal bands of the era. Powerful vocals and some of the greatest guitar work of the age. A must have cd for anyone who was in to this type of music in the early 90's.

If you like your music heavy, hard, fast and full of deep bass and drums then this is for you.
The voice, sort of singing/shouting, is an aquired taste but you get to like it after a while.
I have rated this a good rather than excellent as there is too much swearing.
I cannot play this in the car with the kids (all under 10) listening even thought they quite like the music. I don't like the swearing either.
