A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend Tom came home with this DVD which he said he thought Id be interested in as he had seen a review of it on the apple website so we both sat down that night to watch it.

Now I was emediately sent into a frenzy when all of a sudden the film starts and its in Spanish with subtitles! Now I thought my dvd player was playing up so I went through the settings several times and just couldnt understand what was going on???
<br><br>
Well I eventually read the case and YES IT IS in spanish (I think its spanish anyway???)

Putting that aside though we decided to watch it anyway been as Tom had bought it for me :)

I have to say that after about 5 minutes of watching this film I was totaly overwhelmed! and didnt even notice or care about the language barrier.....
<br><br>
This is the most beautiful and wonderful film that I have seen in a very long time and would recommend it to anyone!
<br><br>
At any point throughout this movie you can pause it and its a true work of art.....

The detail that has gone into set building and the sheer beauty and unique features of the characters really is something to behold. I have never set and watched a film before in which I have been so mesmerised by its beauty.

Now even though this looks like a childs film I DO NOT recommend you let a child watch it as it is set in the middle of the civil war and is quite violent at times and to be honest its VERY graphic!

“Pan’s Labyrinth” is the story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother´s new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944, after Franco’s victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Fascist repression towards the end of World War II (1944) is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own..

My advice to you is watch this as it truly is a masterpiece but beware of the language barrier before you start swearing and attacking your dvd player :)
