Panasonic VS6 Cell Phone

my family has had 3 of these so far and all going strong. Its a great all rounder, easy functionality and a handy shape and size. The camera performance is impressive so much so i dont use my regular camera any more. The messaging is quick and easy even for the most txt challenged. for an older model it still stands out against dearer competition with a higher spec. I think if is an ideal phone for kids and the elderly.It isnt the easiest to get parts for, like the bigger brands but i have had no problems finding them on ebay.I have used all the functions on the phone from bluetooth to wap and had no difficulty working any of them, actually they are much easier to set up than sony ericsson for a start.my only gripe is that the battery cover is a little flimsy, but i have bought a replacement and a cover so the problem doesnt apply now. the software for pc is very easy to work and relatively quick and i have had no issues with downloading on xp or vista to date. The panasonic quality is obvious from the screen to the styling and its a pity they dont build more models as i would upgrade to them. my sons has taken some knocks and still comes back for more. well tested and well loved says it all. recommended to all.

This mobile was purchased for me almost a year ago now and although initially I thought it was really great, I soon realised it didn't come without it's major annoyances.

Before I go into these though I'll mention that it did have a few thing's going for it in that the 2mp camera was good..it produced some reasonbly good pictures.

The keypad and menu..very easy to navigate and the build was very sturdy/durable..especially considering it was dropped accidently a few times. The worst that happened was a few minor scratche's. Of course the fact it was a flip mob was a relief because of this too.

It comes with a couple of games if i remember rightly..a football one and sonic the hedgehog which would of got quite addictive if only one of the game play navigation keys wasn't so close to another of the menu's buttons which resulted in it always ending suddenly/going back to start menu.

For me the downsides were

1. Although it came with this great 2mp camera..where was the usb leads/software discs? these have to be purchased seperately..bit stingy of Panasonic i thought.

2. The video quality was quite poor and you couldn't film for longer than approx 1 minute.

3. My reception was always bad in/around my house and rarely went above 2-3 barrs even in a high coverage area which I always found odd/frustrating.

4. The worst offence..the volume. are you a person who likes to hear your texts or calls coming through? Forget this mobile then. on it's highest volume setting it's appalling (a good way to compare is half the volume of say a nokia, samsung, sony erricson...maybe not even that.) Okay so you could hear it if it was in the same room as you but if you'd left it say in your handbag where the sound might be muffled, a different room from the one your in or you were out in a busy crowded town/street with lot's of traffic then you'd be a bit stuffed really.

With no beeping noise alert for so long after to at least alert you to the fact you'd had a missed call or a text come through ( like say Mortorola's do) i did kind of got fed up of appologising and explaining to people as you can probably imagine. Not great if it's an unknown important/emergency call either.

Needless to say i wasn't sorry to see the back of it,lol!

Bought on a whim as i needed a spare but it's fantastic! Easy to use, great camera and photo options. Text is good and the font and screen are large for people with less than perfect eyesight like me! Would thoroughly recommend this mobile.

Great phone, fantastic desing, very good quality of pictures, strong battery - 3-5 days. Unfortunately poor video (recording) quality, NO CARD SLOT - if there was a card slot, the i will rate 10 out of 10.

i decided to buy the phone because of good product reliability from my panasonic tv/video and the phone is now the 3rd one i will have bought ,the other 2 sadly met with accidents and were ruined which upset me somewhat.The phone is easy to use and the camera/display is brilliant ,the only thing i dislike is that the casing soon gets marked with opening and closing of the phone but that is a minor problem you put up with as the phone is so good.Wish i had discovered this model when you could get them new without buying them from other countries as i have tried various other brands but still like this model the best.I would recommend the phone to anyone who wants a good,easy to operate and reliable phone at not a silly price if you are lucky.
