What a machine, believe me when i say you don't need to buy the 255, if you want to add things just put them in at the beginning of the cycle. The 254 is just as good but without the £100 price tag. The instruction are comprehensive but the cycles can take some getting use to but after the first couple of attempts it came automatically. The white loaf is brilliant but the wholemeal loaf is light and delicious, especially with a nice topping of butter and jam and it also toasts very nice. If you want to know just what is going into your food then you can't miss out on this, you can never get bread tasting like this from a supermarket, there are no addertives or preservatives in your bread, and you know just how much sugar and salt you put in. This is one of the best machines on the market, there are other more cheaper macines but if you want consistancy then this is the one for you. It is like everything else if you want the best then sometimes you have to pay that bit extra. L W Review ID: 10000000005007274 Was this review helpful? I bought it on the recommendation from my daughter. I had previously made and baked bread the hard way for 18 months and was missing the smell and taste of fresh bread. Also we had recently moved and had difficulty in sourcing good bread. This machine is producing a perfect loaf every time and I would recommend it to any body in similar circumstances. However after tasting bread made by a neighbour (on a panasonic SD-254) I was so impressed I decided to buy one. I did some research and originaly selected a Morphy Richards model as recommended by Which magazine. However on several websites I found various complaints from owners concerning reliability of Morphy Richards.I therefore chose the Panasonic model and have not been disappointed. What really surprised me is how easy it is. Just put in the ingredients, switch on and leave it. On fast speed it will bake in about 3 hours or on normal speed you can leave it on overnight. Just a few minutes of work to produce such tasty bread.Cleaning is no problem, A quick wipe of the bowl and thats it. I have only baked wholemeal so far, normally I prefer white bread but the wholemeal is so good I haven't got round to baking white yet. One tip is not to try and cut the loaf immediately after baking, the bread will try and stick to the knife. Leave it for about 20 minutes and then enjoy. As you may gather my wife and I are really impressed and have become quite boring in recommending it to others. The Panasonic is brilliant and the only very small gripe I have is that the paddle (the bit that does the stirring) does leave a small hole in the base of the loaf. p.s. I normally leave ALL COOKING to my wife but the breadmaker is so easy it is now my job. BUY ONE Review ID: 10000000008381430 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
