As good as the SD-253!

I have been the grateful recipient of many a loaf made using the Panasonic sd-253 and have coveted one for ages. Previously I had a cheaper non-Panasonic model, but that produced loaves which were too soggy and without that bouncy bakery texture....
In researching the Panasonic models, it became apparent that the sd-252 was identical to the 253 in all aspects (motor, design etc) apart from the fact that the 253 had a seed/nut dispenser whereas the 252 does not. Undeterred, and encouraged by the far lower price, I am now the proud owner of a SD-252.
This is an excellent breadmaker - the recipes are clear and concise. Basic cycles are 4 hours long and there is a handy timer. The bread produced is of consistent, excellent (bakery/ hand made) quality. It takes me around 5 minutes to add all the ingredients to the pan.
What about the lack of seed/nut dispenser? Well, I have thrown in seeds and nuts at the beginning of the cycle and they have been well distributed in the final bread. The same with dark chocolate chunks for the most fabulous chocolate hazelnut bread. No problems. Talking to my friends, they say they hardly ever use the dispenser and often (especially for very nutty mixtures) also thrown them into the main pan.
I have no regrets. I make around 3 'plain' loaves for my family a week (usually two wholemeal and one white) and 1 yummy tea time treat.
This is a fantastic breadmaker.
