Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 Digital Camera

Read the magazine rave reviews about this camera and saw the opportunity to purchase one through e-bay. Once delvered it was up and running in minutes.Doesnt matter what mode you use to take phots they all seem to come out with excellent colour and clarity needing very little manipulation on my PC before printing.
One of the other outstanding features is the ability to take HD movie pictures with the camera. I havn't yet bought the necessary connecting lead but by using the anologue lead supplied you will be suprised by the quality of the film. I would go as far as saying that it is every bit as good as my Panasonic camcorder, except that the recorded sound is in mono.
Small, light and easy to operate, excellent recording quality, go out and buy one, you won't be dissapointed........

i think people will find the 10 opical zoom is the big winner with this small camera and the most usefull feature as well every thing else is panasonic as they say it does what it says on the tin you will take some very good shots with this

I got hooked on Panny's TZ1 for semi-serious photogs and casual videography. A few years later I've now upgraded to the TZ5 which has more mega-pixels, shoots 720p video that's "good enough" (for me at least) and - maybe a small thing - the TZ5 has a built in lens-cap so I can't lose it. And it will (just about) fit in your pocket. With a 10x optical zoom. Great!

I was looking to buy a digital camera that I can use easily and take good quality photos. As I was looking at local market and at ebay, I found Panasonic TZ5 the
best camera money can buy.
I eventually bought the camera from ebay with 30% less! than local market with
plenty of extras.
I used camera the last month and the photos I took was excellent quality.
Also the video of this camera is very good quality.

It is a good camera with higher 10 x optical zoom, take a nice picture with natural colour, easy to use but I don't like switching between mode taking a photo and viewing, deleting pic only can do in viewing mode.
however it is fit for your pocket.

It's a great small camera with lots of features but the thing that really made me go for this one was the Leica 10xzoom [at lower resolutions you can get up to 16x]. It also has a much wider aperture than other cameras I have owned.

Greatest advantage for me is the 10 x zoom. I decided to buy the TZ5 as it represented better value for money than the latest model.

I was initially looking for a good quality, reasonably priced digital camera to replace a Samsung that I bought abroad a couple of years ago.
I wanted something with a good zoom, decent lens and quick to use, as I've just had a new baby..
I got in touch with a pro photographer friend, who said that a few of his (also pro photographer) pals had got this camera for when they just wanted to take something out that didn't involve a whole bag of tricks.
It doesn't disappoint.
The zoom is great at 10x optical plus it also has a finger tip option to get an extra digital zoom.
With a number of pre-set scene selections that you can play with, there is plenty of flexibility in auto mode. You can also have a selection of manual features that you can play with at your leisure.
The Leica lens is renowned for its quality and holds true to reputation.
Not sure on battery life as yet, as it's not run out after a few weeks of snapping, but I've got a spare that I'll slip in if needed.
When buying, there were a selection of colours, I plumped for the blue which is really cool and unusual looking.
All in all a great cam, that's not cheap, but won't break the bank. Really good pic quality, lens and value for money.

Bought this camera for the wife because:-

a. It has a quality feel to it.
b. It is quite heavy for its size but it feels good and secure when holding.
c. The IA setting is the main reason for buying this camera. The wife just wants a simple point and shoot, and this camera is just great for that.
d.Only problem is position of the AF assist lamp and microphone. When holding the camera it is easy to cover both of these items.

Very powerful digital camera. Clean pixels even after zooming! It has a good size; easy to get around with and has a nice finish- robust camera, does not scratch easily- recommended for anyone who knows what they want in a picture- do not be fooled by the price because you actually get what you are paying for. Perfect!

You won't need anything more than this for the average Jo Blo. Intelligent Auto is magic, picture review quick, movie mode brill, 3" screen bright and vivid, easy access menu which is clear and easy to use.
Only slight negative is that you need bloody big pockets to store it in so a belt loop case is a must along with at least 8gb card (movies) and probably a spare battery. 10 x optical zoom quick and quiet but MAKE SURE YOU FOCUS IT before capture if you go to 40x zoom in normal picture mode (via dial), otherwise it may take a while and you miss the moment.
ALL IN ALL A FANTASTIC CAMERA

It is good camera, but motion pictures are in .MOV format, which is not really good for me - I can`t just download them files and make DVD disc, because not many DVD players support that MOV files. My fault - I should check that better before I buy.

The quality of this camera is second to none, the zoom function and quality of the images it takes is amazing. I love the fact that it is compact and yet packs so many features, the IA function and face recognition is worth it alone.

I have already taken some moving images and have to say the quality is outstanding, the sound is crystal clear too.

This coupled with the deal on ancillaries supplied by the seller, such as tripod, case, extra high power battery, lens cleaner and 8GB SDHC card all equates to the WOW factor.

Great camera, great zoom, easy to find your way around it,everyone should own one.Had a Sony before this one this is a much better camera

Fantastic quality pictures and video. The battery/SD card has a flimsy opening which can get broken easily. When you take a picture it quickly moves on so you don't see what you've taken. Apart from that it takes studio qaulity images :)
