Panasonic Lumix® DMC-LX1 Digital Camera

Very well constructed. Controls easy to use. Display bright and clear with feature that allows the screen to be made brighter for outside viewing on sunny days. Lots of features similar to an SLR camera, but some of these features seem to be tucked away inside the menu system so some spontaneity may be lost while you find your way to and turn on the relevent feature. Camera can shoot in one of three frame ratios and in raw, tif or jpg. A very well specified and well built compact camera. I had the black one which was very smart in appearance.
The thing that let this camera down was that despite it being a refurbished model straight from Panasonic, it was faulty. Jpg and tif images had horizontal lines across the image and I couldn't get Photoshop to recognise the raw format, (although that may have simply have needed a download.) I have to be honest, I would not buy a Panasonic camera again. It was beautifully built, looked a treat, so attractive you could wear it as jewellery. But if you're going to pay anything other than coppers for a camera you expect it to be able to take pictures. I sent this camera back to the retailer and asked for a refund.
