This camera is ideal for anyone who wants a point and shoot with a few extras added on. The optical zoom feature is brilliant, it takes fast photos in low light conditions, the picture quality is good, and there are an array of options for different conditions and picture types. It is a very intuitive system, so there will be no great need to even use the manual.
The negative points with the camera are - it is a point and shoot first and foremost, so no extras with shutter speed and aperture control of course. Also, it would be wise to get extra memory - 4GB upwards would be ideal. Thirdly, a spare battery would always come in useful - battery life is very good all things considered, but it is always irritating without a spare. Finally the filming option is a bonus, but it isn't very flexible. The sound quality is ok, but not great, there is no zoom option, and the picture tends to come out with a sort of blue filter effect.
Altogether I am really pleased with this purchase, and could recommend it to anyone out there who wants a low maintenance, easy to use, great value, and top quality digital camera.
