This would be an excellent PVR, albeit expensive when it was new about two years ago compared to later prices and comparison with present day equivalents, BUT, they all seem to suffer a power supply failure on average when two years old; the signs of this happening are "system check" taking longer and longer. There is a lot of information on the web about this failure, the component responsible (a voltage regulator; a ~£10 component, but ~£90 repair) and how to fix it. I managed to fix mine and used thermal grease (use silver, not silicon for better heat conduction) on the join to the heat sink (there was none applied originally) and hope that will mean I never have to touch it again. Leave plenty of space around the unit and don't put anything on top so that the heat can escape.
