Album Notes This 2007 reissue dusts off MEASURE FOR PLEASURE, the 1968 effort by cult popster P.F. Sloan. Sloan penned some of the most commercially popular tunes of the 1960s (perhaps most notably "Eve of Destruction" and "Secret Agent Man") from behind the scenes, but his own solo releases went largely unnoticed. MEASURE FOR PLEASURE is an album of them. Less overtly poppy than much of his work, the album is folk-oriented, with touches of blues, rock, and jazz throughout. The material is quite strong, as are Sloan's vocal performances, making good on its bid for renewed attention so many decades later.
Editorial Reviews Sloan's rich tenor and controlled falsetto mark him as a completely credible pop-soul singer. No Depression
