'Yentl' has to be one of the greatest works of musical art going. The lyrics are deeply moving with the score beautifully showcasing the extent of Barbra's amazing vocal range!
The film and the music were commercially under-appreciated but that in no-way reflects in this super CD. One of the highlights from her 1994 Wembley Concert (UK) will forever be for me seeing her duet live with the original soundtrack recording of the passionate ballad 'Piece of sky'.
My advice is buy it, love it, feel the emotion!

) YOU DON,T GET BETTER IN MY BOOKS THAN BARBARA STREISAND AS A FEMALE ARTIST, AND THIS ALBUM OF THE MOVIE IS JUST GREAT. IT DOESN,T MATTER IF YOU SEE FILM FIRST OR HEAR THIS SOUNDTRACK ALBUM, BOTH ARE TRULY EXCELLENT. 10/10 RATING. BEAUTIFUL!

Barbra Streisand - Yentl Soundtrack
) I loved this film and love the music. The purchase was upgrading from Vynal. The critics was very harsh on the film and the music - Streisand was not popular at the time as she had offended many in the business with her outspoken behaviour and search for perfection. However, the film has stood the test of time well and the soundtrack - especially strong numbers like "Where is it Written" and "Papa Can You Hear Me" is quite simply wonderful.

By far one of my favourite albums by Barbra Streisand every song is a masterpiece and makes you feel that your back within the film

It proved impossible to find this album in the shops as this is my mums favorite film I was very happy to be able to purchase it online so reasonably and recieve it so quickly.

This is such a favourite of mine.......I have always been a fan of Barbara Streisand but this goes one further. Fabulous feeling and very well sung with so much feeling. Loose yourself in it. Where headphones. See the film first or it will be a bit muddled. Unusual story but just as good as the soundtrack.
A must have for all Streisand Fans and many more....

Brilliant album, especially if you have seen the film, all tracks are good, especially the excellent opening track "Where is it written?", "This is one of those moments", "No wonder" - part 2 (with the voice of Amy Irving), and "A piece of sky" - Just these tracks alone are well worth buying this album for! The words to the songs are fantastic, and Barbra,s voice is stunning as always. The only negative point is the studio versions of some of the tracks - no comparison to those featured in the movie. A must have album for fans of Barbra!
