If you have seen the original Pirates of the Caribbean (Curse of the Black Pearl) Disney movie you will really enjoy this CD. It is a wonderful piece of orchestral storytelling - with the signature music regularly popping up for Jack Sparrow, Barbosa and the Pirates, the Black Pearl, the Interceptor and the Dauntless, etc., so you can visualise the action as each piece is played:
The tracks are:
1. Fog Bound (the opening sequence where Elizabeth first meets Will and we first encounter the Black Pearl with its powerful, suspense laden motif)
2. The Medallion Calls (Elizabeth is now grown up, when she falls into the sea, activating the cursed Aztec Gold piece, she is rescued by Jack Sparrow)
3. The Black Pearl (Captain Barbossa and his crew arrive to ransack Port Royal in search of the missing piece of Aztec Gold)
4. Will And Elizabeth (introduces the melody that acts as a love theme for their appearances together)
5. Swords Crossed (the synthesizer-heavy theme that represents the cursed pirates of the Black Pearl and also a more sombre motif also appears here)
6. Walk The Plank (Elizabeth's arrival on the Black Pearl, having and her negotiations with Barbossa to try and save her father and the inhabitants of Port Royal - only to find herself their prisoner)
7. Barbossa Is Hungry (Elizabeth discovers the Pirates secret - they are cursed to be immortal skeletal beings whose true forms are only revealed in moonlight because they stole the Aztec Gold.)
8. Blood Ritual (The Pirates return to Isla de Muerta for the ritual to free them from their curse, believing Elizabeth to be Bootstrap Bill Turner's only child - so only her blood sacrifice will do!)
9. Moonlight Serenade (The Pirates in their skeletal forms!)
10. To The Pirate's Cave (The Pirates discover that Elizabeth isnt the cure they had hoped. Will and Jack arrive to rescue her, but Will doesnt trust Jack ...)
11. Skull And Crossbones (The chase scenes - with The Black Pearl chasing the Interceptor, sinking her and taking the crew captive)
12. Bootstrap's Bootstraps (the point in the movie when Jack reveals to Barbossa and the Pirates that he knows who Bootstrap's real heir is ...)
13. Underwater March (The pirates 'take a walk' underwater for a surprise attack the Dauntless)
14. One Last Shot (Jack saves the day, but not before becoming cursed himself, and when the last two pieces of Aztec Gold are thrown into the chest the curse is lifted and the Pirates find themselves in the embarrassing position of being mortal again at a most inopportune moment!)
15. He's A Pirate (the character themes and motifs reappear in this final action scene, where Jack Sparrow is rescued from the gallows by Will and Elizabeth).
Great for car journeys and times when you dont want vocals, but do want some dramatic, evocative and colorful music in the background.
