Soundtrack from one of the greatest British films ever, about a bank robbery in Italy by the British firm, who have not only the Italian police to avoid but also the Mafia.
Most recognisable track, "Self Preservation Society" - you'll know it straight away if you've seen the film.
It will bring back memories of all the great car chases staring the three minis, in of course, red, white and blue.
"You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"

You're Only Supposed To Blow The Bloody Doors Off!!!The Italian Job is, and remains one of my favourite films. I'm refering to the 1969 version with the Quincy Jones soundtrack. Play the tracks, "It's Caper Time", or, "Getta Bloomin Move On", and you very easily identify it right away.
The LP Version is very sought after, and any copy in mint condition could fetch anything from £100 upwards.
For a true soundtrack connoseiur this is one to buy!!
Visions Of Michael Caine's immortal line to Michael Standing, "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!!", still hold memories.
In my opinion, the 2003 remake was very disappointing. The 1969 version remains true throughout!!
RECOMMENDED!!!

the original soundtrack to the italian job is just super. its very english and sixties all the different types of music on this cd. the thing to me that makes this soundtrack a classic is the composer which is non other than

Bought because of one title I needed, CD is far too short, one song makes the rest of this CD o.k. but when I could have heared it before I never should have bought it.

Italian job CD - originalThere's nothing like the original - the soundtrack is just classic - 'self-preservation society' being the one song that everyone remembers and its worth buying the cd just for that. The whole cd just evokes the classic car chase and makes you remember why you loved the Italian Job in the first place. Whatever you drive - stick this in the CD and you're zapping around Italy in a mini, dicing with death - just make sure that you don't try any of the manoevers on the way home from work!!
