Original London Cast - Miss Saigon (Complete Symphonic Suite) (CD 1994)

I particularly like the double album because you can follow the story all the way through. Miss Saigon is a modern day Madam Butterfly and the story is absolutely heartbreaking. The cast are brilliant, the songs are first class.

Together with Les Miserables this musical has to rate as one of the best - there is none of the sloppy reuse of the same melody with new lyrics added that make certain musicals sound like lift music on a loop. This is an adult musical with adult content and is well worth the ticket price - as such the soundtrack has many stand alone tracks that could and often do - grace the compilations of many of our more accomplished singers. All this AND Lea Salonga - what more can be said!

this C.D. is fantastic. reminds me of when i went to see the show many years ago. very powerful music and it brought a tear to my eyes to remember the story of the show. Best show music ever

I already had the Original London Cast recording on cassette and this is much better as it is COMPLETE and the cassette version doesn't have the bits in between the songs.

I bought this to replace my cassette version (as it's hidden away somewhere and I no longer have a cassette player!) and because I wanted to sing one of the songs from the musical as an audition for the local choir. I love just listening to the songs though! It's a wonderful musical and even though I saw the show 17 years ago, the soundtrack still brings it all back and never fails to bring a tear to the eye!

I saw Miss Saigon many years ago and was impressed with the whole experience.
Probably the cost of buying a new CD put me off the purchase at that time, but seeing this used copy at a reasonable starting bid prompted me to enter a winning bid.
I am totally happy with this CD and it brought back the memories - especially as it came complete with the booklet enabling one to follow the whole story at the same time as listening to it.
