Original London Cast - Les Miserables (CD 1996)

An excellent recording of this magnficent piece.
Being recorded at the Royal Albert Hall rather than in 'conventional' theatre it loses none of the atmosphere and response from an enthralled audience.
Bought it because I knew it had more feeling in it than the more 'refined' stage for recording version.

The ultimate stage musical experinece ( well thats what I think!) I have seen it twice in London and once at the Mayflower in Southampton. It has a big budget classy feel to the show and stage set is very clever indeed! The songs are haunting, sad, moving, funny, tearful- be assured! I must say the first time I heard the musical I was moved to tears!

The version to go for is the original cast recording if going for CD - 2 Disc set. It has Michael Ball ( on Empty Chairs and Tables) and France Rafell'(sp) who I saw in London which makes it even more special. But all the cast are fantastic especially Jean Van J' who takes your breathe away.

Be Assured- This is money very well spent indeed.

Definitive recording of these much recorded numbers, it is everything I expected and will be useful in the interpretation of these numbers on stage.

Never seen the production but the cd is good, although I found Jean Valjean's voice annoying - too operatic for my taste.

having seen the show this was an excellent reminder of the show with great performances of the songs from the best actors the show has had in its long run.

Xlnt recording makes you feel you are at the Theatre. Have wanted this CD for ages, Well worth the purchase.

I have always been a fan of this musical but did not have this particular CD. Decided to purchase it for my husband who is also a great fan. An excellent recording and highly recommended

This cd is without doubt the best i have ever had for anyone who likes musicals this is a must have you can not be disapointed the one i acquired through ebay recently was in unmarked condition as new
