Only Fools And Horses - The Complete Series 6 (DVD 2003)

Only Fools and Horses is the much loved British Sitcom about the two Trotter brothers and their wheeling and dealing antics. Derrick 'Del Boy' Trotter dreams of being a millionaire and embarks on endless money making schemes which inevitably backfirst, whilst dragging his dopey brother Rodney 'Rodders' Trotter along with him. Along the way the audience is introduced to a variety of characters including their miserable Grandad, car dealer Aubrie 'Boycie' Boyce, and Trigger the street sweeper.

Only Fools and Horses is one of my favourite sitcoms. This series has some great episodes and is one of my favourites. It sees the arrival of Cassandra as Rodney's new girlfriend, Del's bar prob incident, and Rodney getting married. Plus the episodes are extended from 30 to 50 minutes. Below I will do a mini-review (with the ratings out of 5*s) of each episode and then give the DVD an over all rating.

YUPPY LOVE - Rating *****
8os fever us spreading and Del fancies himself as a Yuppie. Meanwhile Rodney has been attending night classes and manages to pull the classy Cassandra. This is one of my favourite moments and the best moment has to be the famous bar prop scene.

DANGER UXD - Rating *****
Another excellent episode which sees Del take posession of 50 sex dolls for absolutely nothing. This episode is very funny and the best moment has to be the exploding dolls at the end.

CHAIN GANG - Rating *****
Del's been spending time down at the casino and strikes up a deal with Arnie (a retired jeweller) to buy 250 18-Carat Gold Chains. Just as the deal is about to go through Arnie is taken ill and he is taken away in an ambulance with the gold chains still handcuffed to his arm. This is another of my favourite episodes with a great story and the best moment has to be Boycie pretending to be a doctor and then subsequently Del pretending to be a policeman.

THE UNLUCKY WINNER IS - Rating *****
Rodney has won a holiday for three in the Mediterranean courtesy of mega-flakes. The thing is he didn't even enter the competitiion and Del's been suspiciously interested in his drawings from when he was fourteen years old. This is again another one of my favourite episodes with the best bit being Rodney having to pretend that he is fourteen years old.

SICKNESS AND WEALTH - Rating ****
Del's suffering excruciating stomach pains and cramps. Most people would go see a doctor but not Del. He's suffering from PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). Quite a good episode but doesn't measure up to the rest of the episodes in this series.

LITTLE PROBLEMS - Rating *****
With his new job and impending marriage Rodney's on the up. However, Del's got himself in a little bit of bother with some hooky mobile phones and the Driscoll Brothers. This is a great episode and one of my favourites. The best moments are the scenes involving the Driscoll brothers which are hilarious.

Overall, the episodes in this series are very funny. In my opinion it is one of Only Fools and Horses stronger series' and the introduction of fifty minute episodes makes it even better. However, the DVD transfer could have been better (the episodes look the same as when they weere originally aired) and it has no extra features which is why I rated it four stars instead of five.

this only fools and horses is one of the best full of funny scenes and good british comedy its rare to have such great british series but this tops it all. Fantastic buy nd promises a laugh each and every time

this series is so funny the "yuppy love" is the funniest one yet in my opinion you have just got 2 c it!!!

This is the one and only programme / series, i could watch over and over again and never tire or get fed up with, and still have a good giggle with as well!!
Will always be a great fan of the trotters!

You'll need no incentive to watch Series 6 of Only Fools and Horses beyond the knowledge that the very first episode of the six herein is the one in which Del takes that legendary pratfall when leaning against a non-existent bar counter. This is without doubt one of the greatest moments in British TV comedy.
Other than that, what do we get? Well, this is the series in which Rodney first takes up with Cassandra. Gwyneth Strong's deftly underplayed, near-deadpan approach to the role of Rodney's soulmate is perhaps one of the most underrated elements in the show's entire run, even if the writers rather ran out of things to do with her almost at once. Ironically, then, despite her introduction, this isn't the strongest of Only Fools collections. Nevertheless, there are enough gems to remind you just why this show was such a success, among them the Spanish holiday episode in which Rodney has to pretend to be 14 and the propane-filled blow-up dolls episode, which really doesn't need a punchline.

Del's obsession with his 'yuppie image' is hilarious. So true to life, we all know someone who thinks they are better than everyone else. The thing is, Rodney can see it, and you share his embarrassment at Del's attempts at the French language, and Filofax. It really was like that back in the early 80's!
This series like all the others, is so close to reality, it's amazing.Whilst this is a great comedy, it touches on the real 'ups and downs' in everyday life.Everything is so 'right' in F & H, from the wardrobe,Del's jewellery, to the Trotters flat in Nelson Mandella House, always littered with dodgy gear.
The lifts never work,the riots on the estate,and Alberts nautical yarns!
Buy one DVD from the series, and like me you will have to get another.David Jason deserved his Knighthood without a doubt, partly im sure, for his contribution to Great British comedy,the question is...... where's Nicholas Lyndhurst's?? It wouldn't be the same without dopey Rodders! Cushty :-)

I was first introduced to the Trotter's when I was around 10years old. Like everyone else I watched the 3 Xmas specials when Delboy's wishes finally come true - they become millionaires!!!! Since then I have become hooked. 'To Hull and Back', 'The Jolly Boy's Outing' & 'Mother Natures' Son' are all amazingly acted and well written episodes capturing the quirky yet entertaining family that is the Trotters. The Complete Series 6 (DVD 2003) is packed to the rafters of the greatest episodes to date - Delboy thinks he's buying a load of Barbies and Sindy's but gets a handful of Lusty Lindas and Erotic Estelles in 'Danger UXD' when the boys buy a batch of hooky Blow Up Dolls. And that's exactly what they do do - Blow Up!!
Rodney wins the holiday of a lifetime in 'The Unlucky Winner is' but has to become a member of the Groovy Gang - oh, and pretend he's 14years old!
And who can forget possibly the greatest moment in Comedy History when Delboy and Trigger are out on the pull and Delboy falls arse over head!!!
It doesn't live up to Series 5 (which is the greatest series in my opinion) but it comes in at a close second. It's lovely Jubbly init'?

I like these dvd's so much they always cheer me up.I would buy lots more of these I am a great fan of David Jason and only fools and horses and to get them on eBay is absolutly great so thanks again.

Only fools and horses is very funny and is an all time classic. I've always loved the comedy only fools and horses so I thought it was time to get t on DVD.
