Album Notes On 2008's ONLY AS THE DAY IS LONG, former Carissa's Weird drummer Sera Cahoone steps up to the microphone for an elegant and pastoral solo set. While Cahoone's slightly raspy singing voice invites comparisons to Cat Power's Chan Marshall, her music is rooted in a gentle alt-country/bluegrass vibe that never feels forced, as exemplified by the twangy "Baker Lake" and the wistful "You're Not Broken."
