The Omega Man (DVD 2003)

When my husband said this film was a classic i rushed to buy it for him. Well, bearing in mind it was many years ago he watched it you might be able to imagine how disappointed i was! Charlton Heston is great, as he usually was in his films, but the make up and acting of this film just goes to show how time and technology has evolved. I Am Legend, This is the original,we are true film fans so feel it only right we had The Omega Man in our collection but i dont think we shall be watching it again for a long time!

we bought it because the remake with will smith was disappointing so we decided to get the original to see if it was as good as we remembered.

Great film of it's day, a much better movie than the recent I am Legend.Even though i like Will Smith even he couldnt save the recent version

Excellent film starring Charlton Heston. This film has been remade recently staring Will Smith and called 'I am Legend', based on the 1954 novel "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson. I think the original is definitely worth watching especially if you like the new Will Smith film. The Omega Man is on my list of all time greats and I recommend it to anyone into scifi/zombie/virus/end of the world type films.

PLOT:
Robert Neville, a doctor, due to an experimental vaccine, is the only survivor of an apocalyptic war waged with biological weapons. The plague caused by the war has killed everyone else except for a few hundred deformed, nocturnal people calling themselves "The Family". The plague has caused them to become sensitive to light, as well as homicidally psychotic. They believe science and technology to be the cause of the war and their punishment, and Neville, as the last symbol of science, the old world, and a "user of the wheel", must die. Neville, using electricity, machinery, and science attempts to hold them at bay.

Iloved this film when I first viewed on video, and now that Iam Legend is out in dvd format i decieded to by both on DVD Format. I am very please with the quality of Omega Man

Saw this when I was a lad - the recent Will Smith remake was soooo bad I had to remind myself why the original was soooo good - -did not dissapoint - great film, no need of any CGI in them days - go on Chuck - show us how it should be done...... excellent

I haven't seen this film since i was a kid and after seeing "I am Legend" i just had to see it again, i was telling my kids about the original and i knew i'd find it on ebay! It is now an old film and obviously more funny than scary as my kids were laughing whereas they were screaming watching "I am Legend" but good all the same, i was suprised how many similarities there were to the Will Smith re-make and i never knew "The Omega Man" was actually based on the book titled "I am Legend". I recommend getting this film if you fancy some nostalgia from your childhood like i did and sharing it with others who are too young or just don't know about it's existence, but don't take it too seriously and just enjoy.

Are you crazy?! THIS IS A GREAT FILM!! Forget the word `dislike` This was how "I AM LEGEND" was ment to be . I loved this film when i was a kid & i knew the only way to find it again was on ebay.

I saw this film years ago when it was first released and it scared me to death. I recently went to see the remake 'I am Legend' with Will Smith which made me want to have another look at 'The Omega Man'. The original is still the best!

What I saw sold was what I received, the service was excellent. It was for my husband, he love the old films, sadly I am not such a great lover of this period. The film was good, if you have never seen i, it is worth seeing if you are a fan. I suppose it it all according to taste. But As I say I have no problems with the seller, it was an efficient transaction.

Not bad for it's time but, after seeing Will Smith's "The Legend", The Omega Man was a poor second. The soundtrack was very annoying ... very dated and at times the music didnt seem to fit the mood of the film. There is a lot to be said for todays CGI. Only watch this film if you are a fan of Charlton Heston.

The Film is nostalgic and worth a look to remind us of the originals. But lets be honest it is awful

One of the classic films of all times I think. It is an insight into what could happen to humanity if we dont stop and think what we are doing to this world.One day this may come true. The film is excellant even for an oldie.

Funky 1970's film which is still quite a watchable mutha. I actually prefer it to I am legend the new remake with Will Smith. See Charlton Heston playing it cool lol

I bought this film for my husband for christmas.
We saw this film in the 70s at a picture house in Birmingham,
so this is a bit nostalgic. My husband loved the film then, so hope he still will.

The film is a Classic....the orginal to the up and coming Will smith's new film "I AM LEGEND" it's a excellent film i liked it alot

Bought it because i couldnt find it in the shops, and thought ebay would be the perfect place to grab a bargain,

The cover was great, and had pictures of the characters,a nd was well laid out,

The story of the film was very clear to follow,

It was so good i even bought a second copy for my Mother,
