Excellent piece of it, we were looking for a camera for the kids to use and this says it is waterproof and shockproof (but will it pass the kids tests, we have yet to find out!).
We also wanted something very easy to use and easy to carry and it delivers in both areas. It has an idiot mode (particulary good for me!) and takes good quality pictures (read up on tech websites and they said it was just ok, but its fine for what we want.
You can also plug it staright into the TV. The video mode is poor, but its not meant to be a video camera!
One weird thing but I haven't fully checked it out so I may be incorrect ... it appears that the battery has to be taken out of the camera to be charged? which is a bit of a pain if so (though it may charge from the USB connection to PC but haven't checked yet)
Around £150 appears to be the right price (written Jan '08)
If you are technical and want something to play with maybe this is not for you (but you probably know that already), however, if you want a no hassle decent quality camera that may just take the abuse from the kids and still be working a year later then this may be one for you

I bought the camera as a present for my Grandson and wanted a competitive price which I believe I got by buying on E Bay.
The purchase arrived in it's original box with all the necessary booklets etc, and arrived very soon after buying. I was very happy with my purchase.

I love this camera it is so compact i take it every where, my kids can chew it nothing seems to hurt it! I have also taken underwater pics they are very clear there is about 4 settings for underwater really really good if you don't know what youa are doing! i also use it to ebay, photo documents and print off (no copier at home) as well as the usual photos. recomend to anyone! it is so user friendly.

Good product for tripHowever, this is a very versatile camera that is simple to use and one that’s extremely tough and waterproof to boot, making it a camera that provides a good level of point and shoot capability (but with fairly limited photo features, it’s true) and at a good price for a camera that you can literally take anywhere, even underwater.

Great idea, but menu system is lacking1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
Being water-resistant is the reason I bought this. I've seen too many camera's wrecked on the beach.
However, while the camera is very well built, the menu system is nothing on the Canon IXUS range (I had one that broke from sand...) Not so easy to navigate and some really useful options like 'sync' flash for dusk, focus lock, 2 sec timer for tripod use etc just aren't there - and not for any particularly good reason.
That said, for most of the time you'd probably never notice or need to use the menu's. Just a shame. Oh and the charger feels REALLY cheap.
