I have a very large camera and decided I needed a small one to fit in my handbag, so I bought the Olympus, it has excellent qualities and the photo's are very clear and print out lovely, just as good as the professionals, so I'm really happy with it and would recommend it to all.

  Cracking camera

A cracking camera with a lot of features from indoor to outdoor. We have the MJU 600 model as well (bought first) and when my husband wanted a camera to use in his work, he's a gardener. It's ideal for what he needs. There are plenty of features to get your teeth into both for indoors and outdoors environments. The viewing screen is on the smaller side but it doesn't affect picture quality. Would recommend it for all ages as it's so easy to use.

My last camera was a MJU 300 which was perfect for me, so when that broke I decided to up to a MJU 400 so I could still use the old battery as a spare and the memory card. Very Happy with camera takes great pictures. Will have make sure Im a little more gentle with the sliding lense cover this time though.

Bought as a spares or repair for £27.I needed the charger and cables plus the memory cards so I bought it then I sold the camera only back on ebay for £52 so all good.Great purchase from an ebayer that lived close by so I collected and saved on the P&P.

This is the second of these great little cameras that I have owned. The first one stopped working after about four years and I had been so impressed with it that I decided to buy a similar one. I checked on eBay, as I always do, and found the one that I eventually bought. The idiot-proof nature of this camera, together with its rugged construction and waterproof-ness make it ideal for me. A super buy!

  Great robust camera

Not being a brilliant photographer and not wishing to blow photo's up to A3 size, and plus through clumsyness having broken 2 other rather expensive digital camera's, the Olympus MJU 400 is the ideal camera for an idiot such as me. It is weather proof, not that this is an essential requirement for me as I only take photo's on holiday which may be 3 times a year at which times I hope the weather is great.
The camera takes fantastic photo's and as I said is robust and unlike my previous camera's,it does not have all the controls that you would expect on a lunar landing module, which if you use the camera only 3-4 times a year requires getting the manual out and doing a refresher course prior to the occassion. In conclusion, it does what it say's on the box and I was very lucky after doing some research and finding a seller with great feedback who gave an accurate description of the camera and above all it has a survived 2 holidays so far despite me or my wife !

  Olympus MJU 400 Digital Camera
Review created: 01/11/09(updated 01/11/09)

i already have a camera like ths but it stopped working so i needed one to replace it. i love the mju 400 cameras because they're so easy to use and they have lots of different settings you can use. i use the camera for my ebay photographs too and they come out very detailed which is always a good thing. they charge for about an hour and then last for a very long time, definitely better than normal batteries that you have to keep swapping. i'd definitely recommend this item as its great for taking pictures of everything and anything. thanks.

MJU-400 A great example of a compact digital camera.
Review created: 02/06/09

The main qualities of this camera are the 'point and shoot' capability and the simplicity of operation for the man-in-the-street.
You don't have to be a whizz-kid to get good results using this piece of kit as there are plenty of simple settings with which you can achieve outstanding 'snaps' and yet, with a little bit of tweaking, some almost professional results can be obtained for the more adventurous photographer (and without breaking the bank).
Weight is a slight downside to the portability of the model but not so as to make it too cumbersome and this is outweighed by the fact that this camera can be used in almost all conditions. Obviously you can't allow complete submersion but within reason it's an everyday tool come rain or shine.
I bought this camera for one of my daughters who previously had an MJU-300 and unfortunately dropped it on a hard surface and it partially disintegrated. That camera had been a good tool for her and prior to that had also been a working item for me when in the middle east so I was already a fan of the style and efficiency of the Olympus brand.
It seemed only logical that the replacement for her broken camera should be from the same manufacturer, but a slightly better one in terms of picture quality, with a name for reliability.

A compact camera with a proper view finder. Not many compacts are equipped with them now and shooting pictures with only an LCD screen in anything other than poor light conditions is a hit & miss affair. A good all rounder and water resistant too.

We love the camera but are disappointed to find the lens cover shuts down the camera too easily, presumably due to "wear and tear".
