An old design but still good

A camera that I have had for 7 years and has given good service. Really good features;
.1. An absolutely excellent trhought the lens viewfinder which is better than those on both my film and digital SLRs.
.2. A power consumption (using AA NiMh batteries) which is so low that I have never emptied the batteries whilst out shooting.
.3. An excellent control over shutter speed (not so aperture) and manual exposure control.
.4. Good colour rendition and exposure.
.5. Excellent macro (close-up) facilities.
.6. Infra-red focussing which works even in the dark.
.7. A reasonably powerful flash.
.8. Control of the ISO speed setting.
The downside compared to modern cameras (2007).
.1. It is only a 2.5 MPixel camera - but still good for up to 10" by 8" prints.
.2. The JPEGs not so good for extensive manipulation using Photo siftware.
.3. Slow saving of photos (particularly .TIF files).
.4 At higher ISO settings - image become noisy.
Overall an excellent camera considering its age. 100% reliable, robust, easy to handle, excellent viewfinder and focussing, good colour rendition, highlights don't burn out easily.
I still use often in preference to Sony DSC-P1, Canon 10D and Canon 40D. This says a lot for the cameraa.
