The Office - The Christmas Specials (DVD 2004)

Well, just brilliant. What a marvellous end to such a superb series.

This Christams special is just full of everything, humour, sadness, moments of thoughtfulness, and again some moments where you just want to cringe! erm, Fawlty Towers springs to mind.

The acting is superb, well written, and the characters - well there just great. The blend of sad, and happy emotions, are just extremely well put together.

This special, and the episodes in general, in my opinion are faultless.

This is a classic - well worth watching and enjoying.

Such a shame there were no more.

Classic BBC comedy needing no introduction. Nicely concludes the whole Office affair pulling together all the strands and plots into one final cracking episode.

An absolute must in the collection of any Office fan - and it did not disappoint us. These special Christmas episodes take us through an uneasy journey for our favourite characters in part one but then delivers a real feel-good factor at the end (yes, thankfully it all ends well).
As well as being an unmissable end to this now timelessly funny observational sitcom, this particular set of two DVDs contains extra features including interviews with the cast and behind the scenes footage of the prestigious Golden Globes ceremony where the programme won two awards.
If you like comedy with an edge and a slice of real life, you will love The Office. If you already love The Office, you simply have to add this to your collection. Happy viewing!

Watching these two episodes again for the first time some five years after their original TV screening was ultimately disappointing. Where is the taut, spare structure of the weekly series? Yes, there are some great vignettes but the longer running time here seems to have presented Gervais and Merchant with a problem rather than an opportunity resulting in too many unexpected longeurs. See it, of course. It provides a resolution, of sorts, to two major plot lines from the series - the 'will they/won't they' relationship between Dawn & Tim and David Brent's need for one. Then seek out 'The Office - An American Workplace' and discover a US version of a UK comedy series that, for once, just might have the edge on the original.

If you are a true fan, of the German TV-Show "Stromberg", you also like "The Office", which is a little different, but also great!

If you liked The Office then the Christmas special is a must, it rounds up the story and brings closure to the series. I loved it

excellent david brent finally has something go right for him and tells chris finch to f### off, well deserved! full of emotional stuff and a perfect end. well worth every penny.

Fantastic final episode to finish off the two series! Everything that everyone wanted to have happen, happened. Brilliant to own on DVD for the excellent extra features, such as the full-length version of David Brent's "If you don't know me by now". If you like Ricky Gervais, you really can't go wrong with this buy.

If you've not seen the Xmas specials but have watched the first and second series of The Office then this is a must to bring things to their conclusion - full of funny and cringeworthy moments - what are you waiting for?!

i bought this as it finishes off my office series, although nothing really seems to happen in the office i think its hughley funny i mean lets face it everyone knows a DAVID BRENT right? its pretty acurate as in every office has the quiet workers who keep to themselves,the charecters are very realistic,and its so great the ending,well maybe not for david brent but tim comes off pretty well!!!!!!!!!!

Great TV-Show, excellent actors and nice extras! For all who like the german show "Stromberg", you are going to love this one!!! Especialy Mackanzie Crook and Martin Freeman are excellent! And the final will make you cry out of joy!

The Christmas special is exactly what you expect in most respects. A fitting end for an excellent, short lived, series.

You follow the employees of the office some years on from where we left them and get to see how much they have and have not changed over the course of this time.

I watched both series and the Christmas special back to back and there's no difference in style between them, so you don't feel any effects of any pressure they may have been under.

Keep an eye out for all the cameos.
