The Office is dead, long live The Office (USA)

I started off not really liking this USA Office and gradually I was charmed by it and now I love it. If you like The Office UK you will like this, give it time but it is great. The Tim/Dawn frisson is perfect, the Gervais character excellent, the Gareth is almost as bad and their are far better opportunities to examine humour in for example racism (if that makes sense) than there are in the UK.
You need to clear your mind and watch this as its own show and avoid making comparison and it will quickly shine. There is the same black humour, the same humanity and the same futility that the UK Office had, just in a US way. In many respects the fact that most US comedy is so middle class (Seinfeld, Friends, Will and Grace, Frasier) makes this quite different.
If you are worried about it being a diluted UK Office think again, this is a great adaptation/franchise and stands up on its own 2 feet.
