Its got to be said that this film is going to annoy some people due to its position as a remake of what might be considered a great film by some viewers. But the main point is, it does a good job, even if its a slightly different type of film.
The story is built around the premise that the recently released major gambling thief Daniel Ocean is building a team of 11 crack thieves all with specialist skills to pull off the greatest ever Casino robbery. The ultimate robbery that has never been conceived before. Oddly enough he builds his team, some of whom appear to be misfits and begins to plan the job.

The good thing about the story is that, unlike some others, they don't actually let you in on the whole plan, you don't know quite how the job is going to come off. Now building the details of plans forms the basis of other films, so in this one they had to fill the story with other titbits to keep you off the scent. These include the love of Oceans life and his plan to woo her back, various mishaps along the way that threaten the job and buckets of humour. Ok, its not a comedy, but when you compare it to films of its type it has more than its fair share of laughs.

One of the striking features is the way the actors work from each other, it appears obvious they enjoyed themselves and it shines through. The quick punchy nature of the dialogue, the timing and the body language are beyond these actors to mimic if it had not been enjoyable.

Its a great film not to have to concentrate on too much, you can pick up at various points and not miss too much, its also one that can be watched more than once without losing too much appeal, I think you might pick up on new gags on the second viewing for instance.

Ocean's Eleven contains one of the best casts ever in my opinion. It's got comedy, romance, played, clever tricks and more. Soderbourgh directs and shows why he got 2 Oscar nominations in 2001.
I must have seen this movie about 20 times!

One of those films you really look forward to popping in the DVD player on a night where you want a great, relaxing, entertaining movie with the right amount of suspense and action. And the eye candy!

The actors line-up is superb, I'd single out Matt Damon for his cool, aloof persona, and of course George Clooney who really carries the film.

The script crackles with snappy dialogue and the cast of stars - including George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon - were obviously having the time of their lives when they made this hit film. Unmissable.

Ocean's Eleven is a very easy-going and purely fun movie to watch.
The film is loaded with celebrities such as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, and Matt Damon.
Ocean's Eleven is very "loosely" based on the original Ocean's Eleven starring Frank Sinatra.
Steven Soderbergh did a fabulous job directing this movie and having all the characters to connect to Danny Oceans group of 11.
The plan is to steal 160$ million dollars from three Las Vegas Casino's. Sounds wacky? The planning time took up most of the movie, and you almost believe that it could be done after you see this.
Andy Garcia did a fabulous job playing Terry Benedict, the owner of the Casino's where Ocean (Clooney) plans to rob. Brad Pitt plays and interesting role as Danny Ocean's sidekick.
The plot flows quickly and some parts leave you laughing on the floor.
Each one of the eleven characters had its own story behind them and it is seen when Rusty Ryan (Pitt) and Danny Ocean (Clooney) first go to recruit them to plan this heist.
I have to say Julia Roberts didn't have a flexible character but nonetheless her presence in this film as Tess, Danny Ocean's ex-wife, is apparent.
Ocean's 12 is due out in December with the same old cast and it promises to be a hit. This movie is one of my favorites because the premise is great and the actors are great.

this has to be one of the best films i have ever seen, and the whole plot is superb, acting is superb, even whatch it several times...
EVERYONE MUST SEE THIS FILM, it blows ya mind, Oceans 12 is very poor, Oceans 13 is as good as this, and prob as good as it gets...

i bought this dvd just because my 9 year old daughter caught a glimpse of this film on tv a while ago, she liked brad pitt, just like most women (me included), and decided that it was a very very good film for her to watch, instead of all the disney films that i have to put up with!!!!. Good for me as she is now asking for more brad pitt films, so now my collection is growing. I would recommend this film for all ages.

What is not to like about this film,it has everything that you want.Action,decent storylines etc and i think the directors or producers when they approach George Clooney knew that he would make the main character is own.He outshines the rest of the cast in this film and i really enjoy it.
I would defiantly recomend this to anyone who like me wants to watch a film about a group of guys and gals who decided to get their own back on the system.

Steven Soderbergh's remake of `Ocean's Eleven' is a stylish heist picture featuring some of the brightest stars in moviemaking today. The cast includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Matt Damon from the A-list, as well as such established veterans as Andy Garcia, Elliot Gould and Carl Reiner in there playing along with them.
Ocean's Eleven stands or falls on the charisma of its stars, the intricacy of its plotting and the plausibility of its actions. Luckily for the audience, the film pretty much succeeds on all three counts. Scenarist Ted Griffin does a fine job gathering together the men who will participate in the heist, allowing each a moment or two to define his character and to become part of the team. The details of the plan itself are explained in very clear terms so that we rarely feel as if we are not able to follow the action. There is even an inspired use of `Clair de Lune' near the end of the picture to lend an air of romanticism to the accomplishment, for who would deny that such large-scale thievery has often carried with it a certain element of idealism and romance? After all, look how many books and films have featured robbers as heroes. It perhaps explains why Tess can go from being a principled, law-abiding citizen at the beginning of the film to being an accomplice in crime at the end, all for the love of a man – and we cheer her for it.

EXCELLENT ALL ROUND, THE DELIVERY WAS SPOT ON, AND THE SELLER WAS EXCELLENT, GREAT COMMUNICATION, WOULD BUY FROM AGAIN .

i love this film because it's so well made and the cast suit the roles they've been given, the actors work well together and the plot line is good. i think i prefer this version to the original because the actors used are ones that i know from other films. the plot line is a little far fetched but very good. plus the gorgeous matt damon is in it so thats a plus on it's own. i would recommend this film to anyone except if your looking for a real action/ suspence movie this ain't for you. if you like good looking lads ie brad pitt, george clooney and matt damon running around trying to rob a casion then this is the film for you.

Oceans 11 as by far for me one of the best cast that you are going to get in a film, and this shows in the film itself and the success that it as had. Oceans 11 for me is the best out of the two that are out at the moment, its full so tension, twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Highly recommended film for all to watch, slick and smooth, this film gets away with everything.

This is what we should be given more often. Class direction of a class script completely dripping in class actors. How often does this happen. It was the norm in the 50's and thats why those films are still watched now. You'll put this into your collection and find yourself banging it into the dvd player every two or three years, curling up and enjoying it over and over again.

A classic picture. That is what attracted me to this dvd. The seller kept his word and the dvd was delivered on time.

I watch and own a huge number of films and can sit through most
dross. My ratings are based on my personal response to films,not

2 stars: I managed to watch all of it, but it was painful
3 stars: It's OK - quite good, but I probably wouldn't watch it again

Danny Ocean (Clooney)is released from jail on parole and heads straight off to rob the un-robbable - Not one, but three Vegas casinos. The casinos are, of course, owned by the nastiest bloke in town (Garcia), who coincidentaly - or maybe not - is the new man-in-the-life of Clooney's ex-missus (Roberts).

Clever plot, nicely done. Clooney, Pitt, Damon and Garcia are excellent, as usual. Highly dubious British accent from Don Cheadle, but y'know were 'e's comin' from.

You know where this film is going from right from the start. There are no surprises, but who cares?

Lacks the glitz of the original for purists, but has enough merit to stand on it's own and should be enjoyed as an 'also' rather than an 'instead of'.

This movie must be watched from beginning to end. You miss a bit, then start again because the plot is so clever. They have to steal millions of dollars from high tech security vault within three casinos. They did it, right under their nose. Or did they????.......I recommend this Movie.

I really enjoyed watching this DVD. I love George Clooney and this was a major reason for me buying it. A lot of my friends had seen the film and said that it was very good, they were right, I thoroughly enjoyed it.I was a little disappointed that George Clooney was not incluided in the audio commentaries but the behind the scenes documentaries were excellent. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable DVD.

After I watched this film I was told that it was a re-make of an old film. I haven't had the chance to follow it up but if it is then I can't imagine that the original was as good as this one. With all of the Hollywood stars in this film they couldn't afford to release a poor film. The acting by Andy Garcia stands out in a league of his own, not quite De Nero but he is closest actor to him. I will be serching e-bay to try and win Ocean's Twelve to see how this one fairs.
