With every tower or table top computer, capability of it is not the only major concern. If you build computers you will know that cooling is essential for it to work smoothly for long periods of time. There are various cooling solutions and if you are not happy about fluid flowing through yor system then heatsinks for dissipating heat, fans to remove hot air and circulate cool air are the main solutions. Uniquely RAM for high capacity usage have a cooling jacket, a wrap around heatsink which works adequatly to disperse & convect heat into the cabinet but does not remove the heat fast enough for multiple high end processing such as graphics The OCZ idea is not just disperse the heat with their fin plating but to physically conduct the heat away from the RAM strips into the 'handles',instead of depending on the inferior method of convection.

It may look cumbersome and some enclosures may not be able to accomodate these daughter-board size RAM strips but if you can fit these and your processing is very demanding for long periods of time then these are ideal.
