If you loved the film, you have got to have loved the music, i bought the cd for the simple reason that all the songs that are in the film are on here, and they are even better to listen to all the way through, than just the bit's in the film, well recommended cd this.

I saw the film and liked the music. I decided to buy it because the film is a lovely example of the Coen brothers work, quirky but well done.

I wanted this CD after seeing the film and although I have never appreciated this sort of music before I have become quite attached to it. I find myself humming the songs and dancing very oddley about the house, much to my childrens amusement! Good fun and also quite moving in parts, hoorah!

Original Soundtrack - O Brother Where Art Thou (CD 2006
Review created: 13/02/08

Never been asked to write a review before, so here goes.
Saw the movie, great, loved the music, brilliant, so bought the CD.
Was going to buy the company, but too expensive.
Full of 1930s American depression music, very Steinbeck Hooverville-ish; very haunting tunes and songs. Most of the songs were well known before the movie, but to lump them all together, there's the magic. American music in the raw: very different to most modern music.
A modern day classic movie, with a classic soundtrack to match.

Soundtrack - O Brother where art thou? - Excellent CD!

I loved the film and this is the second copy of the soundtrack I have bought on ebay in the last year. The first one got stuck in my car player and I have had serious withdrawal symptoms ever since!

The sound quality and performances are excellent throughout and the music is perfect for the film - a wonderful blend of songs and highly recommended.
Couldn't ask for a better soundtrack!

O Brother where art thou - soundtrack CD
Review created: 10/09/07

Bought this CD as I love this film and the music. It is 'old timey' American depression era type songs, very blue-grass. Brilliant words and even though most the tunes have a religious based meaning they are great. I listen to it in the car and especially in the kitchen when cooking!
My sons are 16 and 21 and they love it too.
Highly recommended if you like the film.

The album which got Bluegrass music back in the public eye - or ear. A good introduction to the genre.

Saw the film which has become a favourite and the music, although not my usual listening, prompted me to get the CD. I may buy more of this type in the future. It was everything I imagined the quality of the recording was first class.

If you like the sound of the deep south and down and dirty blue grass music, this is the way to go. the sound track to a hilarious but poignant film, this CD makes for some very enjoyable listening. The flowing theme throughout, the Soggy bottom boys' track "Man of Constant Sorrow" is a soulful and haunting melody that gets reworked in various ways and leads the listener through the story.

There are some quite comedic and quaintly innocent tracks too with some dark ones interspersed, such as "Oh Death" which is melancholy in the extreme. All in all, it creates the atmosphere of the desperate times faced by the principle characters and Clooney excels.

This is one of the best cds I have ever bought, you just can't stop singing along with it, I dare anyone to keep their feet still when the music starts. Brilliant singers make this cd a pleasure for both young and old, I had my one year old great-neice dancing along with it while my 85 year old father sang along to the songs he remembered from years ago like 'Big Rock Candy Mountain' and 'You Are My Sunshine'. I bought this cd because I enjoyed the film so much and I think this cd really does the film justice.

O Brother Where Art Thou - Original Movie Soundtrack
Review created: 02/06/06

I saw the Film and loved it. I was 'haunted' by the songs and music for months after. Eventually I looked the soundtrack up on its own website, listened to the music and read up about the artists. I decided I must have my very own copy! I found a soundtrack cd to bid for and won it. I love the cd, every track on it. It is what I imagine the US to have been like during the depression era and feel the music bears the souls of thousands of Americans during that dreadful time, the misery, pain and hope, and laughter! Personally I feel it is one of the best film soundtracks ever created with some all-time-great performers. Nineteen quality songs make it a very 'generous' cd too.
