Beautiful, romantic genious

I've heard so much about this movie that i just had to buy it. I'm not a huge romantic movie fan, although there have certainly been some superb romantic movies in the past; noticeably 'Titanic' and "Love Actually". 'The Notebook' is undoubtedly a romantic classic- this movie is simply fantastic.
Beautiful both in it's story of how a couple fall in love but are torn apart by the parents' differences in class. Beautiful in it's simplistic nature (I love the scene where they lay on the road watching the traffic lights change); there's no special effects and no action scenes, just a wonderful story, brilliantly acted and directed.
The cast are not hugely renown actors; there's no big money spent on casting, although I did recognise the old lady from 'The Skjeleton Key' which is also a good movie (totally different genre though) and she also acts very well there.
I recognise the young Allie from a few movies, although I couldn't give you her name, yet she plays her part very well as does Noah.
There's a beautiful end to this fantastic love story and it's just so touching. Don't be surprised if you shed a tear at the end; The Notebook is very memorable indeed.
Even if you don't like romantic movies, there is a place in your heart and in your DVD collection for this movie. If love stories are your thing, then they don't come much better than this. I loved it.
