well what can i say this is a basic kind of phone for today techongoly but it will certianly hold it value as this phone was featured in the matrix which gets it nick name the matrix phone this phone features a automatic slide and has infra red

Nokia 7710. I love these phones, they are still stylish and very simple to use. I especially like the fact that elderly people can use them with ease, without getting into too much trouble.

this phone is one of those phones you would love excellent good features easy to use and its not like the newer phones which have come out they get damaged quickly and they freeze they need update and other things i would gives this phone a rating out of 10 a 9

I can't comment on the one I bought yet (only just paid!) but I've owned one for years so I can review the phone. It's great - the user interface is simple and fast, the text-messaging system is the best I've used (predictive, but much better than more recent predictive text systems IMO), fast and simple. It's the perfect size and weight, and sturdily built. The slider was always cool, and now it's retro cool. The plastic with the green shimmer is quality too. You can phone people with it, you can text people with it, that's it - and that's great!

This is one of the greatest retro mobiles you can get. It is most famous for its sliding keypad cover, developed from the banana phone in the matrix and this phone was also used in mission impossible.

Probably still one of the best phones ever, as it doesn't play music, video or have a camera which is good as there is less to go wrong with it and the battery lasts about 3-4 days on a full charge.

The phone is not even that big either, and is fairly lightweight compared to modern phones now.

I would give this full marks doing everything you need a phone to do, and looking cool as F**k.

Well to cut a long story short i had one of these phones brand new on contract many years ago it lasted four years no problem at all . Then for some reason i upgraded to a erricson t68 total rubbish and it just went down from there till i got my lg viewty , still i've recently bought a second hand nokia 7110 again as a back up phone , and oh the memories it bought back great build quality simple to use everything a modern phone isn't .it maybe be old and not very compact with no camera but at the end of the day its a communication tool and a dam good one , and it still looks a cool and gets as much attention as it did back in its day , This phone I'm sure will live forever ...

I have been looking for one of these for a while on ebay.I finally found one that was as Good as New from a great ebayer.More often than not you have to make sure that the sliding part of the mobile is fully working as this has to be down to use the mobile.O.K. it is not modern or light or small.If you want these things plus a camera facility and other modern items found on the modern mobile then please do not bother buying one.However;if you want a Future Classic that is sure to get others around you asking about it when they see it then Yes Buy One.It is sure to get others talking.You must make sure that the sliding part of the mobile is working properly before you buy one.More over if you can get one that is not locked even better.Also try to get it in its Original Box with The Manual/Userguide. It will make a difference in the future when this does become a Classic.I am sure it will be.They are getting hardier to find especially in there Original Box,with the Manual/Userguide in Good Condition.Take your time because they do crop-up from time to time in Good/Very Good Condition.Once you have got one look after it as it is a Future Classic from the People who Connect People To People Nokia.Brilliant Nokia Mobile.Only Nokia would design a mobile like this.Finally it is Strong and well made.How many modern mobiles are like that?

Nokia 7110e. Smashing phone, no hassle, quality service from the seller, speedy delivery. Nice features, the Navi Roller worked very well. The owner had looked after the phone very well.

I had bought three 7110e's from two other eBay sellers. The first has a row of hearts SILS downloaded from the Internet, even using the restore feature fialed to clear the problem. This was in place of the Orange logo. I meant to have taken it to the market for access ro the Nokia website.

The second would not call free Orange answerhone. With eBay, as with any auction sites, get what we pay for. The conclution from Orange was that it was a faulty handset.

But as with the recent seller, smashing phone, quality service from the seller. Can recomend them.

Great phone to have for those who want 'just a phone'. Easy to use, built like a brick so useful when there's no hammer to be found, and is virtually indestructible :-)

Also looks great in the pub when everyone else has their iPhone or ultra slim 'fits in the handbag' phones.

Next step for me in the Brick Phone circa Wall Street :-)

Nokia brought this fone out after the huge interest in the 8110i which the special effects had added a spring to the manual slider for the huge hit film The Matrix, the 7110 was the 1`st WAP fone and had predictive text and a host of features still used today, i love using this and the 8110i as i just use a fone for calls/texts and value the great reception that the small aerial gives you,also first use of the Navi roller for menu access, good battery life and built like a tank both of mine and my 2 8110i`s look like they were bought a few months ago not 11 and 9 years ! both becoming classic/collectable with plenty of parts available for the 7110 but getting scarce for it`s older brother (but batteries still no prob)long may they continue to work, get one while you can you won`t be sorry, every time you push that little button and the slider over the keys shoots down it makes you smile inside.

Cool vintage phone, loved it especially after being featured in that film "Matrix" Love the sliding mouthpiece the best!

Shows signs of age in the design hence the vintage title. try and ensure when buying one it comes with a charger as the old chargers for these phones are not rediliy available, i was lucky i still had one from years ago. will be even more difficult in the future when all mobiles go over to the same connection for charging. I am always weary of anything that moves on a phone like the keypad cover on this phone as if it gets broken i doubt it would be worth fixing and it might not work without it. This was not bought for me but i was commissioned by a customer to obtain a cheap phone for him. As with all secondhand mobiles check whether the phone is unlocked to accept ANY providers sim card especially if you want to keep your number, as if you have to pay to have something like this one unlocked its becomes an uneconomic deal, this was unlocked.


If you like the old style phones this is a good phone to take you back a few years,

great styling and the sliding panel works well. Classic Nokia features, much preferred to current I Phone trends, ringtones are gash though

Ok, so this mobile phone doesn't have it all feature wise. If your looking for a basic mobile to send text and calls this is all you need. Lately I'm always using the phone to make calls, the slide makes me smile every time I use it. I'm pretty new to the mobile so the novelty will probably wear out pretty quickly (hope not!). Speaker and Mic all work well and are sensitive enough, external ariel can be a bit annoying when in pocket and compared to thinner modern phones you can definitely feel this in your pocket!

Think about what you really use your phone for, do you really need a colour screen, camera, mobile internet, picture gallery and do you use all these features? if the answer is yes this mobile probably isn't for you.

Buy it for the slide.

I've wanted this absolutely classic phone ever since I saw the first Matrix film. About a decade later, when the Nokia 7110 has gained rarity value, it is much harder to find than in 1999. Even if you do track one down, it is rare to get one with a fully-functional slider, and a decent battery life. Ebay was the answer. Make sure, if it's not specified on their page, that you contact the seller and ask if the slide is working; ask if the phone is unlocked for all networks; ask if it comes with a charger etc; ask what the battery life is like.

As for the actual phone, the screen is ridiculously big, and the scroll dial in the middle is clearly a precursor to the Blackberry's central ball. You can use most of the applications with the slider up (ie: with the keypad covered). One thing to be aware of though: this is a very large phone. I was prepared for this, but if you don't know, the phone measures 5.5 inches in length (including ariel), 2 inches across (at its widest point), and is an inch think (at its thickest point). Just bear this in mind.

I absolutely love this phone. I can't get over answering it by opening the slider!
